Hey guys, trying to get some juggernauts, just wondering what powders have been performing well for you.
I have some varget, r15, and imr4064 to try. I do have some r17 that I probably won't be try with the jugs. Anything else I might want to try for developing an accurate load?

Rifle is a 308 savage 24" barrel 1-10 twist if it matters

Got a buddy shooting that same bullet in a 24" savage 10. Shoots 2000MR behind it in Lapua brass. Don't know what charge though. It shoots AWESOME.

3.300??? in a 308???

Just talked to my buddy, as always, start low and work up, but he runs 47.0gr of 2000mr, lapua brass, CCI large rifle primers, 2.875" OAL

I load 41.7gr 4064 @ 2.875 in Rem or FGMM brass with CCI LRP. Out of my 20" Savage 5R it runs 2550fps and shoots well under MOA.

LOL, no, my bad. I was talking to someone else about 7mm and got confused!! 2.955" is my coal for the 185 jugs in .308. Sorry!

Varget is probably the most commonly used powder of the ones you listed with juggernauts.......H4895 is another good powder with juggernauts.

I found two good loads for the 185 juggernaut.
With 47 grains of pp2000 mr, I'm getting 2830 fps out of a 28" 1:11.25 Bartlein. About 28.5 moa to 1k with a 100 yard zero.
Also found another EXCELLENT load with IMR 4064. Lapua brass ,210m primer.

*** it's not hot in my rifle but it may be in yours !!***

Well I picked up 200 juggernauts but they didn't have any 2000mr powder, I'll keep an eye out for it though

Shot this today 5 shots @ 100yds using the above load prone off the bipod with rear bag. (41.7gr 4064 @ 2.875 in Rem or FGMM brass with CCI LRP).

Why the aversion to using rl 17 , I think you said you have some.
That stuff works wonderfully for jugs

Nice shooting, what velocity you get with this load?

I was at a Team Blaster class last weekend and my data was consistent with 2550fps out to 500yds out of a 20" 5R barrel. This is also what my Pro Chrono digital has registered with this load. According to AB this load is still going Mach 1.22 at 1000yds, but I won't be able to test it until next year [emoji20]. Interestingly my FDAC was pretty much spot on if I used the 2600 card for the 175HPBT.

I pulled out my data book today and looked up the chrono info. On 09-21-14 I logged the following data:

67*, 60%, 29.92, 1492 DA, partly sunny, Pro Chrono Digital 15' from muzzle, 10 shots: 2548 avg, 25 ES, 7 SD / 100yds U0, 200yds U.5, 300yds U1.4, 400yds U2.4, 500yds U3.5

At the Team Blaster class 10-5-14 it was 37* in the morning, going up to 52* in the afternoon (Around -200 to 450 DA). We shot paper targets @ 100yds, and then steel out to 500yds. My holdovers and zero were the same over the 30* temperature change. (FYI I was using Re15 in the past, and I think it might have been a little more accurate in my rifle, but I was getting crazy velocity swings with temp changes.) Please keep in mind I am not a benchrest shooter, or F Class, and all my shooting is prone, barricade, or tripod with a Pig saddle and this load is working out really well for me.
