308 twist rates......

I'm thinking about picking up a 308 again for the first time in a long time. If I go that route, I'd mainly shoot 150gr FMJs/Fed PwrSk/Fusion as well as some 168gr FedGM but nothing lighter or heavier than those.

With that in mind - what would be the ideal twist rate for me??

1 in 12 is what you want its pretty standard in factory rifles good for typical .308 loadings 150-178gr. 1 in 11.25 is alledged to be optimal for the 175gr match bullet. 1 in 10 is primarily for 175 and up or low velocity.

1:12 no doubt. If you're not going to go heavier as you say then that is your huckleberry. Mine is a 1:10 and likes 175smk's but doesn't care for 150's. A 1:12 would love them.
