These are photos of a 300gr .338 AB jacket fresh off of the press next to complete AB's in 225 and 250gr. The engineers are getting the press set up, so we should be going into production very soon!

Re: 338 ACCUBOND 300 grain Update

I LOVE accubombs! I'm shooting 225's over RL15 in my .338-06 and they are silly accurate.

5 shot group. lone shot to the right was a sighter, the other four were after the scope adjustment.

Re: 338 ACCUBOND 300 grain Update

Love the Accubond, but the 225 enables so much more velocity it is the clear choice for hunting out to a thousand yards or so. The 250 offers no ballistic advantage over the 225 and I doubt the 300 will be much if any better. Reason is I think a super high BC 300 grain bullet will require a tighter twist than the normal (10``)and there is no way Nosler will go there....
For the same reason everybody else avoided it like the plague.

No better than the 225 IMHO

I ran the numbers both ways and the 300 is a little better bullet at 1000 yards, but the differences are so small you would never see it.

I zero my 338Edge at 250 yards with the 225 and never get higher than 2 inches at 150 yards. Then I'm down 14 inches at 400 yards...So I don't even think about dialing until then. the 300 grainer will be 3 inches high at 150 (more than my preference) and 16 inches down..Not much different, but if you correct the mid point trajectory it will be down 17 inches, which is getting near air on a deer sized animal.

Not big differences, but worthy of consideration..especially if you are running a smaller case.

Yes, and no they don't blow your deer in half.
I've shot dozens of animals with 338s and they don't work that way.
They are cleaner than a 270 on deer.

I totally agree.
