Sidearms & Scatterguns .410 shooting. 45 LC.

The reason why you see people talking about shooting .410 and .45 LC in the same gun is that they have the same base size - and a .410 shell can be safely fired in a .45 barrel without issue.

drew_235 is right, the .410 shotgun is nominally .410" barrel diameter - shooting a .45 LC in it might work - ONCE... with really negative results. Even if it was really a nominal .454" barrel, it'd be smoothbore and wouldn't stabilize the bullet either way.

Another question is simply: why?
I'm a big fan of using the right tool for the job. You can probably find a simple/cheap/used 45lc carbine or even a Torus Judge revolver if you really want one gun for both cartridges.

I hear an arrow shoots really good out of a 410!??
I've seen some really dumb shit people have done with shotguns over the years. Mostly duck hunters. I think it's because they set for hours in duck blinds and get bored ?
I have to say MOST things worked but that was then but This is now!
