5r and ltr

hey guys iv heard a lot about the 700's 5r barrel and its ltr barrel. I know there both very good and i dont really care whats better than the other but i just want to know how to get one. Remington currently only puts the 5r on only there target tactical model (i may be wrong)which is out of my price range. so is there another way to get one of these barrels or maybe an aftermarket barrel that is identical? thanks guys

You can get aftermarket barrels with 5-radial. They won't be identical but they will be good. Kreiger makes them. Some other companies also. But it would be about $600 for an aftermarket one.

A 5R rifled barrel from Rock or any of the big guys will run you about 350 ish then you have to have it threaded and chambered which will run you about 200 and up depending on if you want the action trued, id stick with the Remington 700 5R Milspec and rock on.

misread your question.....Most Aftermarket barrel makers will make some form of 5R rifling.

S/S trumps blued,when talking bores. A S/S LTR would be a great thing.
