6.5 CM ammo Question

Been working with my Bergara B-14 HMR 20inch factory barrel at 100 -300 yards. I’ve been shooting factory 140gr and 130 gr have used most of the brands available,I’ve had very good results with mosts so i was wondering about 120-129gr factory ammo I don’t see many reviews on the lighter 120-129gr.I understand most guys here are shooting well over 100yrds so 120gr is way to light for greater distances but would be interested in any results or input on the factory 120-129gr.

Absolutely try other stuff.... nothing wrong with a 120gr class projectile in 6.5

If you aren’t wanting to shoot far, the more bullet mass won’t have any tangible effect, shoot the light stuff if you are fine staying between 1-300. If you get out to past 600 the heavies will pay off.

I have a bergara that likes the 130-140 grain bullets and I have another 6.5 creed that is best with the 120. A little frustrating to need two different loads but completely expected.

I hand load, so not factory ammo, and 123 Scenars are great out of a shorter barrel (16.5”)
Easy to 500 yds.

Thank you for the input,I will give the 120’s a try, its always nice to know what your rifle’s POI is in a pinch.

I hand load 100gr ELD-VT’s, and have no problem hitting the 10” plate at 830 yards. The 120’s should do just fine if your barrel likes them.

No results, but this is available from Lapua below. I stick to the Berger 130 gr OTM's when handloading, but I have fired a box or two of

Berger Match Grade 6.5 Creedmoor Ammo 130 Grain Berger Hybrid OTM Tactical.​
