I am not finding much for data on the 6.5 creedmoor. I need data for re-17 using 120gr class bullets. Also i will be trying 4350 with the same bullets. Can anyone direct me to a link i can print? Thanks Lee

Re: 6.5 creedmoor reloading data??

Skeetlee most of the people that have been reloading the 6.5 have been sticking with 4350 and going with the data off the box due to the fact they kow they are under the max pressure levels.

I may have a guy that has loaded up a bunch of different loads let me see if he did any with R-17.

Rob01 worked up some but all 4350 loads.

Also check 6mmbr.com you might find a R-17 load there.

Skeet here is the picture of the back of the 120 AMAX box with their load. I haven't reloaded the 120s yet as I like the 140s but the 140 data on the box was dead on.

Not sure about any RL17 data but seeing as the Creedmoor and the .260 are so close I would probably work with a slightly decreased .260 load if i couldn't find anything Creedmoor specific.

If the 6.5Creed is anything like the 6Creed:) if you use lets say 43grs H4350 you can also use 43grs RE17, but you're going to get more velocity from RE17, better accuracy, who knows.

You'll be zooming them with r17 with the 120's. I'm at 2895 fps with 140 hybrid. 42.7 r17, fgm210m, 2.800" coal. 2.212 to ogive. Accuracy is great. Shot several 140 amaxs with 42.8 r17 and was hitting 3" groups at 920 yards. My usual load is 42.6 h4350 at 2800 fps with 140 hybrids. I stuck with this because it seems to be less dirty than r17 and I see no reason to burn my barrel out quicker for 100 more yards stable flight when I shoot mostly 1,000 yards anyway. Check out the 6.5 creedmor thread as stated. I've got a bunch of loads posted that shot really well. Rifle is a GA Crusader. 27" bartlein. 8.5 twist.

Oh Man Rob01, my bad. Was using the search function to seek my own 6.5C load data and I came across this on page 2....assumed it was current. Need to look at the date next time. Still good information provided from Aimsmall55, info that will benefit my load development anyways.

No problem. Just busting your stones a little. Good to get Creedmoor info out so others can see.

Pardon my ignorance, but how would you burn out your barrel quicker using the RL17 when you are using the same amount of powder? Does the fact that it's dirtier have anything to do with it? Does RL17 burn hotter than H4350?

The faster your bullet goes ... The faster your barrel goes. Different powders are just that... Different. While some folks may not agree, I found Reloader 17 to be dirtier in my bore than h4350 while cleaning.
And yes Reloader 17 is a slower burning powder , hence more velocity.
Don't get me wrong, I have every intention of running r17 with a 208 amax in my ftr .308. I like it. All I was saying is that it pushes a 140 hybrid very fast and in the scheme of things I would like to conserve bore life in my creedmor by using h4350

Thanks for the explanation. I'll take your post as somewhat of an endorsement to go forth and use RL17 in my Creed, as I can't find H4350 to save my life, but I did manage to score a couple pounds of RL17.
