Didn't want to drop the coin on an AXMC conversion insert + SA Mag with AXSR mags on the horizon, but got tired of waiting on AXSR mags to come available so away we go. Run a 300 PRC and 6.5 PRC but the 6.5's don't like to chamber out of the LA mag consistently. Had some 1 x 4 impact PVC laying around and thought I'd give it a go. This is not something I'd recommend unless you have a lot of patience as the geometry and physics are far more subtle than you would think. None the less, wanted to put this out there just to say it can be done if you have some patience and tenacity. Spring is a cut back MDT drilled and riveted into the follower. No base plate was needed. Fit and finish, not worried about pretty as long as it works.
