Does anybody here have experience using N150 powder in 6.5 creedmoor?

I am currently looking at alternatives to H4350, as it seems damn near impossible to source. I have 2 lbs of N150 to try. The VV website lists some very conservative loads, so I'm not sure where exactly I should be starting my load development at.

I plan on using it with Lapua brass, CCI BR4's, Nosler & Berger 140's. My barrel seems to like a velocity node of 2780 fps with 140 grain bullets. My Lapua brass load with H4350 is 42.5 grains, which yields 2780-2790 fps.

Any help is appreciated.

I have been using N160 for a while now with the 140 grain class of bullet (139 Scenars), 26”” barrel and normally seeing 2,775 FPS +/- 10 FPS depending on conditions...

Try AA4350 or IMR4350. I do use N150 for 308 and love it. But it is only good up to 2650 with 168.

I am working on it on 6.5 ar with peterson brass and lighter pills like 123 scenars and 130 berger hybrids as I have a short barrel. Starting very conservative from 37.5 upwards. Sounds not very promising though. Waiting for h4350. You should consider IMR4451.

Appreciate the responses. Berger went and developed a load test for me, showing a min load of 36 grains and a Max of 39.9 grains. Quick load shows a Max load of 40.5 (someone sent me the data). I've loaded a few up in incremental charges, and will see what velocities I can get and any pressure signs for the higher charges (I loaded up to 41.4 grains, if I get that high without pressure).

Once I find a load, I'll play around and see how temp sensitive it is. A lot of mixed reports on this.

I would suggest that you try IMR 4451, which is a relatively new powder in IMR's Enduron line which is supposed to be temp stable. I worked up loads with IMR 4451 a year ago and I had excellent results. With Hornady 140 ELDMs, CCI BR2 primers, and Hornady cases, my best load was 41.8 grs. which was just as accurate as my best H4350 load and gave about 2703 fps avg. out of a 24" barrel. Precisionrifleblog.com says that IMR 4451 is pretty temp stable, but not as temp stable as H4350. However, it is readily available.

Temp sens for N150 is not a problem.

I have great results with Varget & 123 Scenars & 130 hybrids

Let us know your results. I have a lot of N150 and a couple of . 264 rifles.
