Re: 6.5x47 Lapua firing pin modification?
Send the bolt out to GreTan gunsmith in CO, google it and he will bush your firing pin and fit the firing pin to the hole for little money with quick turnaround.
The 6.5 x 47 L causes some woes with pierced primers on some factory guns and yes it depends on how you load it. I have shot about 5,000 rounds in my Stillers and even thought they have a tighter tolerance on the firing pin I still get very flat primers and cratering with moderate loads. Quite a few F-class shooters I shoot with also use the 6.5L out to 1,000 yards and have had similar results. You can also go over to 6mmBR and search their site and you will find examples of the same.
You might want to do yourself a favor and get a brick or two of Wolf Small Rifle Magnum primers. Wolf SRM have about the toughest cup out there and are very uniform, if you pierce those with a bushed primer you can assume you are above max.
