Has anyone else found that these touch the lands at an absurdly long seating depth? I’ve got a SAAMI spec chamber where the throat has probably eroded 0.010 after 7-800 rounds. I was trying to measure the depth where the A-tip would touch the lands using the Wheeler method and the bearing surface was only engaged about 2mm in the case. Using the Hornady depth gage, the bearing surface was actually all the way out.

I can certainly just use mag length as the starting point, but it seemed odd. Has anyone else made these measurements?
