I had a couple 6x45 AR's, with 87-95gr bullets it's a good option if you want to deer hunt with an AR in a state where hunting with 223 isn't legal, but not really great for much else.

A 9 twist will allow you to shoot pretty much any bullet you want that would fit mag length.

I am a fan of 6mm anything. And can see where the hunting aspect comes in also. im picking this one up just well honestly because the price is right and i can turn it if it turns out to be something im not into. Kinds like the 25/45 sharps AR. That rounds interests me also. But only from a handloaders perspective.

I have several and have a reamer now too. It’s a terrific cartridge and one that is a hammer. The best bullet weights are 55-70 grn bullets. It’s a touch slow otherwise.
I shoot both 55gr and 70 gr nosler varmint BT's out of my 700 remington varmints what would the upside to shooting the 6x45 over say a 243 with same bullets? Besides the fact that it being in a Ar platform instead of a bolt gun lol.

I have a 16" 6x45 Blackhole barrel on my AR15. Very accurate and has become my go to varmint rifle. Really puts the hurt on varmints.
I shoot a 55gr NBT and the 70gr Varmageddon both with H322/CCI450/LC brass
I love those 70gr varmint bullets devistating out of a 243 thats for sure. 40 gr of imr4064 just devistating i tell ya.

i have built quite a few of the ackley version. they are pretty amazing for their size and it is my huntng rifle of choice even in a bolt gun. the last 2 big deer i killed were with an 80gr sierra blitz at 3100fps. we have even shot the 105 amax in 8 twist barrels to velocities you would not believe. the 95smk at 2950fps is actually a very capable match gun especially for new or recoil shy shooters.
