Did you build you 7-08 on a LA or SA? The internal magazine in the R700 SA seems very limiting for seating depth if one is planning on running the 160-170gr bullets, Thanks.

Short action with Alpha type 2 mags can load out to 2.95. I am running my 162 loaded out to 2.84 over 45.6gr of 4350 still getting 2750fps and can go faster if I want. I am starting short so I can chase the lands as my lands close right now.

Thanks for the thoughts guys. Thinking I need to put together a LR rig for the Mrs. She's pretty cranked up about shooting with my LR rifle and it's probably time to put one together that fits her properly. She shoots lefty. Even though we've worked on shooting right handed she would still prefer hers to be set up left handed. Just trying to decide whether to have her current hunting rifle built up to a hybrid hunter/light tactical or just go with another separate rifle all together. I've got a bunch of components for the 7-08 laying around doing nothing which is one reason I was considering going in that direction.
