anybody got any loads with a 26 inch 7-08 with 162-168 bullets loaded to fit the AICS 308 mags,,2.850 or so,,just day dreaming about what I will do when I get ready to rebarrel my 700Police 308,,I am really open to suggestions and may use the 6.5 Creed but would like to have a little heavier bullet for more remaining energy at longer range,,

Look in the 7mm load section: There are pages of them.
Note that 162AMAXs are not 168s and will need different load development and different powder charges.
Try H4350 and Varget.

~44.5-46.5gr H4350 (barrel/chamber dependent of course) for ~2650-2800fps
~39-42gr Varget for about the same results. Same with RL15.
7mm08 works well @ 2.850", but better at 2.900", and best at 2.950". Great chambering.

I am at 45.5 grains H4350 with 168SMK. In my first 7MM08 comp rifle I used the same bullet with 47.2 H4350. It was fantastic and the load was actually listed in the Hodgdon data on line. Now they only go to 44.2 for the same powder/bullet combo. I gave up on the 162 Hornady bullets; just too damn hard to find.
