I have nothing to contribute here but my jealousy.

    Re: 7mm-08 loads...

I would like to say never use that dam 4350 crap... its worthless. I need to convince a bunch of people that cause the shits on backorder for a long time now.... Varget is fairly good stuff too.

    Re: 7mm-08 loads...

    I use 43.0 grs IMR 4064, 140 Barnes XBT. I also use Varget and Hornady 139 sst + 140 Nosler 140 BT.
    Remington Model 7 18" barrrel

    Re: 7mm-08 loads...

    Corbon has a new load for 7mm-08, its a 168gr VLD@ 2700fps... I would look into that.

Powder wise, I hear good things about RL15. But RL17 I feel would be a great choice for the heavies in 7mm-08, 162gr-180gr...

THe 120gr VMAx and 162gr Bullets would be my choices...

    Re: 7mm-08 loads...

162 Amax with H4350. Good combo in several different rifles that I know of. 162 also does well as a hunting round, at least on the whitetail that I've shot with it.

    Re: 7mm-08 loads...

    I'm running moly'ed 120TSX w/44.5gr VARGET in my 12 twist Broughton 5C...

    Re: 7mm-08 loads...

    24" Border 1-10 5R match barrel
    Fed 210std/M primer
    .308 Lapua case
    42grns V V N140

    120V-Max will get you 2900f/ps
    130SMK will get you 2800f/ps

Just working up a load for the 150SMK with N160 45.5grns is getting me 2680f/ps at the moment.

I used IMR-4064 as well when I had a 7-08, Remington cases and Federal primers, I loaded a 100gr Sierra HP in her, I mainly used the rifle for plinking and some varminting, rifle was a joy to shoot and I wish I had one again.

    Re: 7mm-08 loads...

Sendero, while it's not the same specs as your rifle, I have a 7-08 that has treated me well. 16" barrel and it loves the 120 and 140 gr Barnes TSX and the lil 120 gr Hornady's for practice. I only use RL15 and can get you some data that has worked quite nicely for me.

Even with that lil barrel and a 120 gr TSX, I haven't found a Bull or Buck yet that has stopped the bullet or walked further than the length of his body. Furthest I have shot an animal with that one is 324 yards. Thats a far piece for my scout scope, haha.

    Re: 7mm-08 loads...

If you are looking for a long range gun look at the 162 Amax or 168 Berger. I am running the Amax at 2842fps with 46.8 gr of H4350. Both the bergers and the amax shoot great. Bergers liked to be loaded to long to fit in my magazine. I have never tried any other buletts jsut based on the BC. For long range stuff you cannot go wrong with either. The Amax's seam to do a great job on whitetail. Even out past 500 yards. Brock

    Re: 7mm-08 loads...

My deer rifle(don't laugh)is a Remmy 788 carbine 18" in 7mm-08, the only thing I've done is glass bed it. My hunting load is the 160 grain Sierra BTSP with the book max load of H380. For some reason this load just drops deer like the Hammer of Thor. I also like it because it's extremely accurate out of this $120 rifle...

    Re: 7mm-08 loads...

    Another variation ...

H414 46.5 Gns behind 140 Gn Accubond, with Fed GM210M primer, Norma factory brass. This gives me 2858 fps MV and less than .4" group at 100 metres, out of a LW barrel 1:10 twist.

    Re: 7mm-08 loads...

I have had great result with Varget with 120-140g bullets. HOover, last week I was looking for a cheap varmint load for my buddies' SPS, and ran some W760 under some Hornady 139g BTSP, and wow! Must be the short shank, nearly hit 3000 fps, with no pressure signs.

    Re: 7mm-08 loads...

I run Hornady 139 BTSP over 42.0 grains of Varget in the lands. Is is not a fancy superbullet but I get a quarter minute out of my Hart on Model 7 with it. Velocity is moderate but I'm in no hurry to toast my barrel to kill hogs and whitetails.

    Re: 7mm-08 loads...

max book load of tac works great behind a 120 or 130gr for hunting loads in my 22in beater hunting stick
