Hi all,
I just got a 7mm SAUM built on a long action. I am having some issues with getting rounds loaded into the mag. The body of a SAUM case is lager in diameter than the inside width of the mag. The only way I can get the rounds in the mag are to line the case head up with the ribs in the side of the mag. This works fine on the bench and what not. But when I take the mags into the field the rounds shift slightly and then get hung up causing failure to feeds. I am thinking of taking the follower out and cutting it down, and cutting a spacer to fit in the back side of the mag that will prevent the rounds from shifting in the mag. My worry is how to get the spring to still work properly.
Here are some pics

Has anyone had this problem before? what was your solution? Am I going overboard?
Thanks,
