A noob question for sure. Waht are the differences beteween 9mm Luger and 9mm parrabellum(?)? Just picked up a 9mm Luger from my Mother, who is not well(colon cancer)and was wondering about the round it is chambered in. The pistol is an older(few years) S&W.
Thanks for any info,
Eric

Re: 9mm Luger?

Those are the same.

9mm Luger = 9mm Para = 9mm Parabellum = 9x19mm = 9mm NATO.

The round has been around so long, it has several different designations. All of the above are identical rounds.

That about covers it. The ones that ARE NOT THE SAME that you should watch out for are:

9mm Makarov, 9x18, 9mm Largo, 9mm Kurz
