So in my neck of the woods in north western Kansas. The dumbassery on the roads has quadrupled. Just today driving down the highway I was flipped of three separate times. All while I had the cruise set at 68mph. Our little 28 mile highway that is the shortcut between Denver and Omaha is loaded with out of state drivers that haul ass and have no recognition of curves or hills while passing. Our shop is on a curve. And remind you this highway has no shoulder and yet daily I hear air horns of semi drivers about to have a head on with a car that decided to pass on a blind curve. We are talking everything from small cars pulling trailers to suv and pickups pulling 100k campers.
Where did all the dumbasses come from? It’s never been this bad.

We’ve got a grain bin site along said highway. One day I watched a state trooper nail 6 cars in 20 minutes. Dude was doin work. We are at record levels of cars caught at over 100 mph for our county.

And it’s just not out of staters. Driving a tractor down the road can almost be deadly. If I see a bullhauler coming up behind me I’m in the middle of the damn road just he slows down. I knows he’s there. I will let him pass when it’s safe for both of us. Because they do not slow down.

Watching a movie, and FaceTime all while passing me on a two lane road going 93 mph. That was in KS 4 years ago. You folks are impressive. Not that TX is any better. Here we do all that but while its pouring rain. It is ridiculous.

Hey it’s not us out here in BFE it is Minnesota, Iowa, Ohio, Idaho, Illinois, and tags that are just a blur.

You drive too slow,

I want to use your little 28 mile section to kick my horse into action ...
IMG_0539.jpeg

I can lay back one car length and before I get alongside the driver door of that tractor trailer I am doing 88, by the nose 100MPH

Drove across the country this month from Denver to TN, the scenic route, at 90 I got 24MPG, which is pretty sweet, at 75MPH I am getting 28MPG, so 68 is in my way and ruining my mileage. My ACC hates you ...

Stay in the right lane and out of my way and I won't have to smoke you Cecil,

Where I live people tend to either drive the posted speed limit, or they drive significantly faster, seems like no in between. I can say that the significantly faster crowd, now has another more significantly faster crowd.

To a certain point, speed in and of itself is not as dangerous as the authorities would have you believe (I am talking in the range of maybe 15-20mph about posted speed limits, not extreme speeds)

What causes the increase in danger is the differential in speed between cars on the same road. Let's say the speed limit is 55, but 95% of the cars on that road are traveling at 75. If you travel at 55, yes you can be on your legal high horse about not speeding, but you are the problem in that scenario.

I tend to drive with the pack for this reason. Lately, there is not really a pack. You have the 55 I am legal types, you have the 75, I need to get somewhere types, but now you have a large number of the 100 types that are like GTFO of my way! ZOOOOOOOM!

Out here the pack is mostly 55-65 because we are all farmers. You all know how farmers drive.
I ran a stop sign today and didn’t see the trooper until I passed him. He flew up behind me and then turned off. I called him on his cell because I go to church with him and know him. He said I wasn’t worth it when he might lose a $300 speeding ticket.

Curves at 75 are my sweet spot,

I was traveling in Wisconsin last week (in TN Now) and there was this curvy little section of 61 that takes me into Dubuque Iowa some kind of lowland Amish Valley, two lane, with a few sections of passing, maybe about 1/2 mile long, I had two tractor trailers and a Dualie with a 5th wheel, hang back a tick, smack the paddles and I am gone before you knew it...

In SD, took the curves towards Deadwood at 75 in a 30, hugging the road like Biden with an 8 yr old.

Don't hate cause you can't keep up... even the Man tried hunting me in Wisconsin, he knew I was kicking it, send 3 cruiser after me blasting me with radar, but I was too quick for them...

In Nebraska I found a backroad section of Old 6 I think it was, found the exact spot the time changed, watching my analog clock spin made me long to film it at 88MPH, but 120 was more fun...

Don't even trip my ACC, only makes me go faster to get around you ... stay in your slow lane, the Cannonball is coming

Monday I am heading back to Denver, I am gonna find your little stretch and open it up, 150 here I come

Did you call me A RICER ?

WTF that is German Engineering ...

Yes I did!! Does it even have 8 cylinders?
Come play with the big boys. Get out of the populated areas where the good ole boys play. Let me know when you come thru. I have a few ppl that would like to meet you. (Based on your driving habits).

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA :ROFLMAO:

Okay Cecil, whatever you say... dirt roads don't scare me, Nebraska = Dirt, Iowa = Dirt, hit the recirculate button, blast the A/C and push back the roman shade... :alien:

You won't even catch me and if you think you might, distance gives you time and opportunity, if I have anything on you, it's distance Cecil

Clearly they are wasted on you ... all that horsepower no will play.

My guess you try to kick it in the ass and it breaks loose, plus all that weight you are hauling ain't cornering like I am ... you might be fast in the straightaway, but that ain't country, and I can shift on the wheel so I don't have to remove my hands like you will.

Frank who is this Cecil you speak of? I won’t pull a maser on you. As long as you take pride in your driving and watch out for the American farmer in your adventures your welcome on my road. It’s the fricken dumb shits with no clue that are going to get someone killed.

Frank.
Sell that fuckin thing and buy a truck.

I know I know. Your shooting chops and being a Marine aside.
Please hold onto a little Americana and a little bit of being a man.

You shoot 6GT dont ya? 🤣🤣 Tiger go rawr!!

Let me know when you feel 497 ponies under the hood with 1283 ft lbs of torque. You may be quick but I’ll catch you.

Yea that freight train is a lot scarier at 120 than that Porsche is. Hope you don’t melt that turbo lol.

Not sitting behind someone doing 68 if I’ve got a long drive KMA. First chance I get I’m going around. Guy in a tractor I’ve got a lot more patience for than grandpa meandering his way to town.

What can I say,

Once every six month to make sure I don't like it ...

At least it hauls all our stuff, and to be honest, fuck a truck, I hate swimming inside them, the seats are too big, the interior is like a small apartment, I like the feel of a smaller interior, 14 positions on the seat, I can pull the middle from behind my knees, it fits like a glove. Cockpit is a word, and the seats of a full size truck just don't work for me

I am built like a girl, so I need a car that fits me, trucks suck, too big, can't see around them like this and I like to Scoot

That freight train is a lot smaller than you think it is at 8200lbs. Grandpa huh. I’m 32. You fucks need to learn patience is key.

Im bettin your ass dont look like a girl in Lulu Lemon yoga pants....

I think I am so used to a truck driving one so long its just part of it.
i camp and hunt a lot. As well as home projects so its nice.

I tower over you at 5’7” and a bit (darn near 5’8”) So I get the seat fit.
I live and work in Lakewood. Not much driving. Just to shoot and ski.

And go have a beer with pretty gals from time to time. 😊

I know how big they are I’ve had 3. Got rid of my fire breather last year. Keep em factory now.

I ain’t making money or spending time with my family sitting in the truck. Out of the way. Lol

8000LBS, I am 1/2 that... 4100lbs curb weight LOL
I’ve got a straight track out side my house. Let me know when your coming.

ps. I don’t care if you drive fast. Just be mindful of the ppl that can’t. Tractors combines sprayers semis loaded can’t. It’s not that we can’t see you its that you can’t see in front of us. There may be cars coming, signs on the side of the road we have to swerve for, barricades we have to dodge. You jackasses scare us to death.

I can tow a trailer hauling a broke Porsche and get 16! 😉

Im a small town farm guy from Iowa originally. Speed limit works for me.
I can cruise out on the freeway at 80 full loaded and get 18.

i do well in town.
But can haul 5 souls and stuff for camping for a week without issue.
rough roads.
Deep snow.
few sheets of drywall?
New tub to remodel a bathroom?

A few fattys to keep shankster happy?

any and all.
I do very little long haul driving.
If I do, Its like guns. Spend the money and stop bitching 🤣

In my weld rig the other day hooked up to My Gooseneck, cruise set at 75, 2 lanes going down to 1, some dude in a brand new titan just about plowed into the back of my trailer at around 100. Skidded, fishtailed, just about slid it off the road.

I know I get it, but I don’t get pissed when people try and pass me.

Nah, I don';t fuck around farm equipment, and I am not doing anything if something is coming the other way or if I can't see past my limit

Actually we are in no hurry, so we have been bebopping across the country going from Class to Class,

We hit, Nebraska, SD, MN, WI, IA, Now in TN, and Monday I head home, probably just cruise I-70 back to CO

The ACC is actually really good, it keeps me a constant 2 car lengths from anything and will slow me down with them pretty nicely. The only negative is people behind don't see any brake lights so they ride my ass. The radar is really nice in this gal.

Had some jackass in KY hauling a shitty trailer with a Suburban doing 75, his tall covered trailer was swerving back and forth, an accident waiting to happen, those jag offs I pass quick and keep away from. The main thing I like is this pony let's me scoot away from trouble, but I try to stay around 9MPH over the limit.

I am not looking for a problem, but if I think there one on the horizon I will kick it and go, asap

I’d like to see proof of these crazy mpg numbers. I’ve never seen anyone actually back them up with the trip meter more than a a few dozen miles. Couple hundred on the trip odo or it doesn’t count.

Edit- on 3/4 ton or larger trucks

I dont get pissed when ppl pass me either. I get pissed when a semi tries to pass another semi around a curve when cars are coming. I get pissed when a little ricer passes a semi on a curve when they can’t see what’s coming. I get pissed when ppl don’t slow down on a tractor coming upon a bridge thats too narrow to pass on.
I’ll say it again but the dumbass are out in masses.
