They are probably selling because of the proposed Carbon Capture BS that the state sold out for. Currently Louisiana looks to be the proposed main dumping ground for CCS and to do it the state plans to use eminent domain to take the lands for private corporation use to include private foreign corporations. The people down here are trying to fight it but the state legislators are already in bed with these corporations. It's a dirty, corrupt world down here!

Even if I had the cash, I would not buy any more property in this shit hole state. It's literally filthy and corrupt. Unless part of the good ole boy system, whoever buys that property will get screwed. Good Lord willing, I won't die in Louisiana.... hopefully a better state.

Update on this, The state wildlife and fisheries dept was looking to bid on this and make a wildlife management area or something of that nature. But the news dropped a week or 2 ago that some unnamed individual out of Tx has made an offer that was accepted. The identity of the person would remain concealed until all the legalities were taken care of. Probably never know how much it took to buy it.

My conspiracy guesses would agree with Babyguppy and this person was acting as an agent for Bill Gates or the CCP. I may be pleasantly surprised, but I won't hold my breath.

If it’s anything like my state, public access is the high water mark…..and I see a LOT of high water marks on almost every inch of that property. So, around here, you’d never be able to keep people from hunting/fishing all that water

State should NOT be allowed to buy private land. State then raises taxes on remaining private land, people are forced to sell and state jumps in with some BS excuse to buy it. Rinse and repeat. Good old fashion 'progressivism' aka communism.

State wanted to buy it to call it a WMA but sell/lease the mineral rights to Capture Point or one of the other Exxon subs for Carbon Capture to get Q45 tax credits since Biden made that very lucrative for that BS..
