Hey fellas, I am wanting to swap calibers from my 7.5" 5.56 upper to a better caliber. I already have an AAC 9.5" upper that I kept as a subsonic suppressed caliber. I can just switch to supersonic and this would obviously be a huge gain in energy and not increase in physical size.

Then I saw the PWS 7.5" upper in 7.62x39 and love the way it looks. So whats the difference in velocity between factory 123grn 7.62x39 from a 7.5" barrel vs 150grn 300Blk from a 9.5" barrel? I have an Omega suppressor already.

I dont use ballistic calculators but Im assuming the 300Blk destroys the 7.62x39 in every category with similar length barrels?

This is a PWS I built. MagnetoSpeed V3 clocked Barnes Tac-TX 110 gr with suppressor @ 2196 fps. Sometimes I drop on the S&B for hunting varmints. Subsonic I most often use SigSauer's 220 gr. @ 1,000 fps or Black Hills 220 gr. "Whisper" OTM; with either usually only the bolt cycling and a soft "poof" noise is heard. I use the Law Tactical folding stocks on my SBR's in order to fit into a Blue Force Gear Jedburgh small backpack.

Ballistic calculators do not predict muzzle velocity, chronographs measure velocities, to be an input value in ballistic software.
