SubscribeThe lever-clamp designs like the RRS are better than the screw down designs like the Area 419 to me. I have a GrayOps mount that on my bipod which I like also to add another option. And agree with what others said about the panning feature being more of a hinderance than help.I'm looking at upgrading my bipod on the AT-X. I was thinking of getting an Atlas BT46-NC. Is the Area 419 adapter or the Really Right Stuff BTC-Pro better than the other?
I wonder if it is because you have your stock locking piece installed correctly, and he has his installed backwards(?). Female end is on the buttstock, and male end is on the stock IIRC.Yeah that’s weird. Mine is closed all the way and not quite touching the quiver.

Mine is set up like yours and it just barely misses hitting the quiver (can just barely see daylight between them).
Who makes that front sling QD attachment?

Me too.I dig the truck.
Nice work! What material are those made of?This is what I made for a bag rider and a thumb test. Hoping to get them cerakoted today.
There could be a market for those bag riders and that thumb shelf. They are 6061 aluminum. I cut them on a cnc mill. If you have any interest in one shoot me a pm
It definitely costs more to mill a part from billet aluminum than 3d print, but they are really solid. There could be a market for those bag riders and that thumb shelf.
And they look good too.It definitely costs more to mill a part from billet aluminum than 3d print, but they are really solid.
Yep. Playdough with 5lbs of locktite. I stripped one also.I got lucky. Only stripped one screw head trying to remove the scope rail. What are these screws made of? Liberal feelings? Soft and squishy metal

I felt it strip and immediately said it’s not worth it. I knew where that road was going to lead.Yep. Playdough with 5lbs of locktite. I stripped one also.
I think I got the 1.879 gen.No no. You must be confused. It's an AI. It's got the smoothest bolt out there.
Severely. My AXSR has a marginally better bolt feel overall. I figured with the exaggerations and what I experienced with the AXSR that it would be in the same realm. But this ain’t it with the ATX.Don't you hate it when your expectations get crushed by the reality of a thing after hearing all the hype from people online....
Couldn't resist.Idk about anyone else but my bolt lift is ridiculous. A few people on the hide said it was comparable to a Zeus and that’s not even remotely true. I’m 220lbs and can do 15+ pull-ups and deadlift basically a Toyota pickup. The bolt lift is stupid heavy.
Same, live and dry firing have broken it in and it's now just on the heavy side but not gritty. Also getting used to moving my thumb behind the cocking shroud first before for leverage before lifting helped. When I first got my AT-X the bolt lift was heavy and gritty but after about 1000 cycles of dry firing it has broken in nicely. It is vet comparable to my nucleus if not better
They probably have six packs on their pointer finger and thumb. Big jacked pinchersYou guys just normalized the bolt lift for yourselves
I can lift a F350 with my thumb, bolt lift is fineThey probably have six packs on their pointer finger and thumb. Big jacked pinchers
Be careful with the pork sausage. Rip that thing right off.I can lift a F350 with my thumb, bolt lift is fine
Everyone knows when you buy an AI you have transition to support hand pork sausage handling so damage doesn’t occur. I think it is in the manual.Be careful with the pork sausage. Rip that thing right off.
What grease do you recommend?Something I learned last week. Ever since owning my AI, I have never thought about lubing the back of the firing pin assembly. I did so because my bolt was significantly heavier on open and especially closed ever since getting it cerakoted. Little did I realize it was because the factory grease had been taken off by degreasing, sand blasting, and cerakoting. I greased it up and it feels better than it ever has. Everywhere that is circled in blue. A little goes a long way if you use the right grease.
Also grease the rear face of the bolt body where it meets the front side of the bolt shroud.

I wouldn’t go lower that 1.35What is the lowest mount you can go with a ZCO scope (with out the top bridge)? I am planning on running scope caps. I finally received my DE yesterday and am looking for mounting solutions. I am thinking about trying out ZCO's rings to save weight. I really like the one piece mount from Tier One that I had on my AXSR but want something a bit lighter.
That’s as smooth as a baby’s ass!!Must be something wrong with yours

WTF is that even supposed to mean?Quit digging for potatoes.

Hey while its not overly difficult, its also not really obvious how to replace your fixed stock with the Hinge Assembly. I included some quick short instructions on my website where I list the AT-X Hinge Assembly for sale:
AT-X Hinge Assembly - Bison Tactical
The AT-X Hinge Assembly is the part that converts the Accuracy International AT-X Rifle into a Folding version of the AT-X. The AT-X is designed to be eitherwww.bisontactical.com
Here they are as well (since I just replaced mine):
Below the manual calls for 44.3 inch pound torque settings for #4 (bolts to main chassis), and #5 which is the bolt to the rear chassis. These are basically the same bolt sets you will use for replacing the fixed chassis with the hinge assembly. The AT-X Hinge Assembly comes with (4) M6 hex screws and (1) M5 hex screw. You will need to remove the part below that is between the screws #4 and #5.
Additionally, you will need to remove the below part as well (between #1 and #2). You will then replace these with the Hinge Assembly.
edit - of course there are the other parts like the part that keeps the stock in the folded position - those are pretty obvious so I didn't include them...
