Super duper doubtAs AI (or at least AINA) appears to be leaning towards building rifles for competition, it will be interesting to see if the best of the best in PRS switch to AI.

Imagine if the Mousingfield had more bolt lift. SpaceX wouldn’t have to divert satellites over gun ranges. Not that it is scientific. But putting 20lbs of lead on the scale and taping paracord to the most outward point on the bolt, greatest leverage.
2014 AX308 was 7.5lbs to cock the bolt.
2022 AT-X took 12.7lbs
2020 AXSR 8.5lbs
Trg22 6.4lbs
Mousingfield 6.0

Unboxing video for you guys!
That’s about the same results I got with my 2014 AT vs 22 ATXNot that it is scientific. But putting 20lbs of lead on the scale and taping paracord to the most outward point on the bolt, greatest leverage.

Yeah this was a first. My woman has been with me for 24 yearsHope you got better aim/handling when you’re with your woman![]()
Bless her patience.Yeah this was a first. My woman has been with me for 24 years
I’ve had my wife longer than I’ve had my AT…Yeah this was a first. My woman has been with me for 24 years
Unless there’s a tender I doubt AI would cater to the market like that. With an entire action redesign they should have gone to a medium length action to accommodate the short mag guys, stretch a few specs by a quarter inch. $7k or so would seem like a steal for a factory 7saum or 6.5prc VS having to step up to an AXSR for $11k. I bet they would sell a ton of them.
Do they have issues? I’m building a 300 WSM on my AT currently. My 260 has a lot of room left running 142 smk .010 off the lands in these mags. I’m thinking it will run a wsm just fineWith an entire action redesign they should have gone to a medium length action to accommodate the short mag guys, stretch a few specs by a quarter inch. $7k or so would seem like a steal for a factory 7saum or 6.5prc VS having to step up to an AXSR for $11k. I'm shooting 7-6.5prcw in 2 different barrels in my ATX. 180 hybrids and 168 vlds are stuffed way below neck/shoulder to fit in a mag. 180s at mag length limit powder. I single load 180s in one of the barrels and it absolutely hammers but I can't get those results mag-fed. The other barrel is a short carbon barrel shooting 168's at mag length and I'm not giving up too much, a little velocity and maybe some accuracy seating into the shoulder but its not the bullet I was hoping to shoot. Short answer is, short mags work, but you're NOT gonna mag feed and get the same results you could from a longer action. Single loaded 180's below.Do they have issues? I plan to push 178 ELDX out of the 300 WSMI'm shooting 7-6.5prcw in 2 different barrels in my ATX. 180 hybrids and 168 vlds are stuffed way below neck/shoulder to fit in a mag. 180s at mag length limit powder. Also, the AW mags won't hold WSM rounds reliably. They'll vomit all the remaining rounds out the top after extracting a round in my experience. Maybe you could work the feed lips but IDK. MDT WSM/PRC mags work excellent in my ATX.

I'm sure you'll be fine. If you wanted to shoot 215's or similar you'd be leaving a lot on the table at mag length.I plan to push 178 ELDX out of the 300 WSM
7mm bullets are long by design as well
We’ll see what happens I guess. I’m ok with single feed. Mag would be better.
I’m shooting deer with it. Plan is to 1200 or so. Realistically 700-800 most of the timeI'm sure you'll be fine. If you wanted to shoot 215's or similar you'd be leaving a lot on the table at mag length.
The AT-XC bolt is not backward compatible with previous generation actions. The bolt lugs have nothing to do with the cocking geometry, but with that changed the entire bolt assembly will be different. Whether you can buy an AT-XC bolt assembly and drop it in a previous rifle probably only AI knows at this point until someone has both and try’s it.
We have done "RRS-Lock" for specific customers. As for making it a production feature we are on the fence about it. Once the pin falls out of your RRS-Lock clamp, and it will, it's a useless feature that collects dirt and debris and raises the cost of manufacturing.
I've taken the locking mechanism out of every rlok head or bipod clamp I own. Just run enough tension it down slide.Glad I'm not the only one this has happened to... I have lost that stupid pin 3 times now. I get home after a match and start looking over my gear and would ya look at that my rrs lock pin is gone again....View attachment 8480205
Is the chassis the same as AT-X? Will you ever add a C to the chassis? The AT-XC bolt is not backward compatible with previous generation actions.
Yes, and Yes.Is the chassis the same as AT-X? Will you ever add a C to the chassis?
Might have to try one these new mags in my atx 6gt setup.
Yup, just ship a few full sized pallet crates of the new spring/follower, I'd pay $25, I bet they'd be gone quickly.![]()

Be cool to get the heavy spring and follower for us poors who use AW mags.
All 4 my atx rifles/chassis already hinged up, I just want relaible feeding from cases shorter than 2.85"The pallet-crates are already too full of "definitely not ATX hinges" to accommodate upgrades that make the worlds most reliable sniper rifle more reliable.
I think we're at the point where comp rifles and .mil rifles just have a conflict of interest.
Any rumors on AT-XC magnum bolt face for 6.5 PRC?
Thoughts on AT-XC vs saving 1k and custom building with Termiuns Zeus action and having the capability to run 6.5 PRC?
What is Pros/cons other than "It's an AI"?
Cons, AI can say the company will support magnum bolts on this rifle, and 3 years later come out with AT-XCD. They’ll state that any improvements will only be on this new version and forget about AT-XC.Any rumors on AT-XC magnum bolt face for 6.5 PRC?

Zuess is opposite lug orientation VS AI or CDG action. You may know this but the Zuess is fair bit more finicky with aw mags with 12 4 and 8 o'clock lug orientation, VS AI 2, 6, 10.Any rumors on AT-XC magnum bolt face for 6.5 PRC?

.... but this is a company that nuked their patterns for the AW, both the action/chassis and the skins.... AI just doesn't make sense to me.
Thumbhole AT and ATMIt would have been great if they continued "legacy" designs with minor updates - always wanted an AWSM with a quick - change barrel and longer magazines.
Thumbhole AT and ATM
Green
Standard, Mag and Lapua bolt face bolts
That would be my ideal pair
They only need one model of AT. Green with thumbhole stock. Similar to the old AW. There’s still a decent crowd that’s into the old school AI’s vs the new stuff
