Rifle Scopes Accuracy International Mount and lapping...

Question: I bought an Accuracy International 18 MOA 30 MM mount for a Vortex. The problem is, it came with no instructions and I can't determine front from back. Any idea which side the screws go on? Or if the 18moa scribe is front from back. WTF, hasn't anyone heard of packaging! Lol

Also, do these mounts require lapping the rings for the scope. I tossed in the scope really quickly and it set in the mount with about a 2-3mm gap without pressing down on the scope to force it into the rings.

I have the exact same mount. The screws go on the left side of the action. And no they do not/should not be lapped. It is rock solid once it's set up though, hope this answered your question.
