Comp trigger sucks elephant dick IMHO. The original OEM trigger is one of the best ever made by any company.
I would consider a Barrett but they don't offer a LH model

Shot a sneaky 49/50 over 6 windy stages at our club match on the weekend with the AT-X in 6GT.
Shot these 10 over the chrono at the end of the day. 220 rounds only on this barrel with virgin Alpha brass at 2857fps (SD 5).
GT runs much better than the 6BR for feeding. No mag spacers needed with GT, huge boost in reliability and confidence.
Wow. Sweet rifle but no thanks. I'm going to see what happens with the future of the AT. If they really are gone and start selling for crazy prices I'll just build something. I'm not looking to buy quite yet anyways so I'll see how this plays out.

The big question, in all seriousness is, are we fooked with spare parts to keep the gun up? Are they still gonna be able to fix them if something breaks if discontinued?
Triggers are in the atx and the receiver/bolt are the same. Aside from chassis parts I can't see what isn't going to continue in production. Still might wait 9+ months but you'll get it

Yes. There is an entire LE market still using and running the ATs. So AI has to continue making parts and supporting departments using these rifles. They're still doing the same for AE and AW rifles that LEOs are still using.

End of an era. Prices are now in a range i am not longer willing to pay. Fortunately enough i got my AW and AWSM. The AT was a reasonable option for people not willing to spend 10 000+ and still have a bulletproof rifle.
Curious if i will be able to find an affordable AWM in germany. Time will tell. Right now i am with Sako from now on when it comes to recommending precision rifles to people starting with long range shooting. Always favoured the AT for that.
TRG/AI was always on par for me with the AI being slightly more robust due to the internal chassis reaching to the very end of the stock. Both shoot equally well. Kudos for Sako still producing the traditional TRGs. Would be the same move to keep the A1 model and discontinue the green stock. Same rifle just 8000 instead of 4500...
If Zombieapocalypse happens, there is only one rifle i will pull out of the safe with 110% confidence though. Thats my AIAW in 308.

AFAIK, bonding stopped once the AXSR came out. So any rifles after that. As well as I *think* the ELR rifle isn't bonded, but can't remember exactly on that.

Here I was hoping they’d step up the AT line and make it factory available with a thumbhole stock. Instead they axe it completely. Sad for those of us who like the traditional AW style the best
Being these are replacing the AX 308 models I’ll assume the price will reflect that of a modernized AX and less of a price reflecting a modern ATX. Just going to guess instead of a price around $5.5-$6k it’ll be more like $8k. Especially the mil version if civilians can even get that

The new action rail/cutout really stood out to me on the new XC... End of an era. I'm torn, these don't look terrible but nothing will ever match the sex appeal of an old AW in my eyes.
"Reduced operating effort"- Does that mean no more 12# bolt lift when you flex on the poors?
AI website lists choice of AI standard or comp trigger. I wonder if those are going to be factory options with different skus, or just another optional extra.
I like my AXMC better and also would never buy another AI LH rifle unless all of the options were available at the time of purchase. There is no support for LH shooters
fortunately, all 3 bolts and spare firing pin assemblies are all in stock in LH for axsr.

It does surprise me how the new rifles are over $11k. But the AXMC have a hard time selling for $6800-$7000 on the used market. With spare bolts and what not

I haven't been keeping up on used AXMC prices but the prices you quote may be accurate for a RH model. I have seen LH MCs with multiple bolts going for higher prices than that. If I saw an LH MC with the 300WM bolt body, I'd consider buying it for just that bolt and then sell everything else that I don't need
It always comes down to finding someone who wants what you have.
Ahh that makes sense. I actually like the trigger safety and grip better on the SR but I wish they could have kept epoxy bedding.
AI needs to do a AW throwback special limited edition of the AT with thumbhole skins as a one time deal next year. Make like 200 of them with cases tshirts etc.
I’m comparing AXMC to AXSR. Same as NikH would be upgrading to in order to get the LH options. Basically selling a used AXMC with bolts for $7k and cost is double that to upgrade to AXSR for the same needs. Just LH in his case
Both do the same thing with essentially only a few minor more modern features.

It's a new action and new bolt, so probably doubtful they're interchangeable. The AXMC and AXSR do not work interchangeably.
I doubt it will be backwards compatible. Also, the bolt looks like the AXSR bolts. So, likely just a different way of pinning the bolt head in. I wouldn't expect any kind of quick change bolt head. Maybe slightly less labor intensive than the old bolts.....maybe.
I dunno man, AI's usually pretty good about doing that & making life easier on their customers... I'd imagine it'll be a simple swap & no doubt AT-X bolt availability will be better too!

Would'nt be a surprise. AI comp trigger jumped from $599 to $1050 here in Australia. AXSR not long ago jumped 3K also. Jooooke!!
Maraging steel is usually in reference to a very tough alloy like Aermet 100 etc.
AI uses maraging steel for the bolt head and breech ring. Even in the current AT action.
