I couldn't tell an optical difference between a ZCO and TT i got to play with. Both are definitely a step above NF and center performance the S&B competes with them. Where the ZCO and TT do better than S&B is once you get away from center... the edge to edge performance is incredible, and S&B is no slouch.

NF just tends to have reticles i prefer... but I do think I want a ZCO at some point in life.

I don’t own one, but I really like that 3x version. But that MSR2 is also calling my name… 🎶😈

anyway I gotta snap outta it and go shoot something this weekend. My scopes work fine (I tell myself as I cry myself to sleep).

I keep getting the “uploaded file is too large for the serve to progress”, or it’ll upload, but not let me insert the image. Y’all got any suggestions?
I got a bunch of photos of AIs at Legion I’d like to post…
Are they pictures taken on your phone, or are they DSLR pictures?

I can load pretty big pictures (12MB+), if they aren't huge files then it might be your account, I recall having similar issue and logging out and in fixed it.

Or could be an issue in background.

Finally got ahold of an AXSR again. I tossed an MDT grip on it, but I’m not entirely sure I like it much more than the Ergo grip.
Double checked action torque and we’re about ready to punch some mile targets.

Man, i wish we could have them but I'm in Illinois. I'm working on getting my FFL and SOT to be able to have them though, but IL is a horrible state. I'm surrounded by gun friendly states, but Chicago ruins it for us.
Keeping the ZCO, LOL! The FDE is sweet though.

I forgot, @BurtG the black one is your favorite aswell. MPCT3. FDE is MPCT1. I do like the 3, but I've slowly begun transitioning to the non-tree reticles. I like them both though.

Play with the angle some. I wasn't sure about it at first either but now I can't believe I waited so long to make the move.

Tell them that you thought the state of Illinois believed in equality. If they did you would be able to have a suppressor. Instead you have to sit back and watch us with our “western privilege”

Y'know what, I'm gonna step in on this one:

All you folks who say [Insert Cheap Scope Mfg Here] is better than a Leupold MK5HD: post up your 10, 15 and 20 round 100 Yard/meter shot groups and show me what you can do with yours. Because I don't buy the noise being generated for one second.

I've quite consistently have had great success with my Leupold MK5HDs. And mated with my AT308s -- whether with Lothar-Walther or Bartlein/WinTac barrels -- the shot groups I've posted on here for a year and a half now speak for themselves.

The ONLY downside I've seen to a Leupold is the slightly narrow eyebox, which forces consistent cheek weld... I have a hard time even faulting this. Everything else has been stellar, whether it's the MK5HD 5-25x56mm or 7-35x56mm. The only eyebox I've seen better is from glass twice as expensive i.e. a Schmidt & Bender PMII Ultra Performance, ZCO, etc.

I'd take a MK5HD over a Zeiss S3 or S5, having compared them back-to-back at distance: the Leupold has better clarity, less color distortion, and puts less strain on your eyes. The only comparable scope in its class is a NF ATACR 7-35x that beats it on clarity and ruggedness, with the ATACR 5-25x having an odd distortion when compared to the same spec MK5HD. And the ATACR is almost a full $1000 more.

At under $2000 for MIL/LEO, the MK5HD is a fantastic scope for all that it does, with phenomenal light gathering and practically non-existent chromatic aberrations, even on max zoom while trying to engage 1200 yard IPSCs.

And the zero-stop system is the best I've ever used: the ease at which I can re-zero AND the zero-stop simultaneously in the field is phenomenal.

Both of my scopes track extremely consistently, turn after turn, having done multiple tests checking both. Further, I've seen these scopes take blows in muddy, rainy sniper competitions first hand, scuffed and banged up, and still perform without a hitch.

So if your bias is from using a Leupold M3 on a M24 from two decades ago (or more), or you are just parroting what others are saying to sound trendy? Put your money where your mouth is: post what you can do with your "cheap" scope, or shut up. The mouth-breathing keyboard warrior banter is exhausting.

Took my 79 year old dad out today. He is going through treatment for prostate cancer and I wanted to make sure he got some trigger time.

My dad is the man. Not only is he the most humble ans generous man I’ve ever met, he’s a badass. He was my scoutmaster growing up and helped me get my Eagle Scout. He is a Silver Beaver in scouting and taught me so much. Taught me how to shoot. How to hunt. How to work. How to be a man. He taught me to give my word and keep it. Thanks dad. Nice shooting as always.

He was part of the army marksmanship unit and is an absolute animal when it comes to iron sights. When he gets out his 1942 Springfield M1 Garand we are all in trouble.

We had a 20mph wind and it was rainy today but given the chemo schedule it was today or not at all. Well the clouds opened up for us to shoot for an hour or two. Then it poured again. 510 yards. Couldn’t miss the 12x16 plate. The smile on his face after connecting on his first shot and hearing the “ding” was priceless. I am thankful for quality equipment that made it so easy to make him smile.

My pops went through prostate cancer last year. The radiation shook him pretty good towards the end, but he stayed pretty positive throughout the entire process. He's been doing extremely well ever since, I wish the same for your father.

Do you like that bag rider?
I do like it. I don’t do any kind of competition or anything like that. Just long range shooting fun. And targets I shoot at the range is all over the place. And on a steady incline from 2-6 degrees. So it helps get those final adjustments without adjusting or changing out rear bags. But it does add some weight to the rear stock. Which imo helps too.

$11k gun with a ten cent shipping box. For that money, they should come in a pelican case from the factory. Gold lined.
Agreed.. Though this is SH, I don’t think anyone here buys anything firearm related, high end scopes and such for retail. Especially AI’s. Well unless they click to purchase. Then that’s being stupid and like getting scammed for doing that.

It depends, are you a Jesuit (showing me the way) or a Missionary (forcing me to convert)?

:)

I identify as neither. Many pods come and go yet the Harris still remains.

Inner peace comes from knowing that while we debate which scope or bipod is better, we all know that Nightforce and Harris are superior. Gaia said use whichever makes you happy
