Gentlemen!
Pleased to be here, and excited to get into the long range game! I recently visited the FTW Ranch, and took their Precision Rifle Course. Now I'm Hooked, so the gear chasing is just starting! The instructors, all former SEAL snipers, are all about 6.5 Creed, and the ranch is in with Ruger, so I bought the obligatory RPR in 6.5, and ordered a Viper PST GenII 5-25, because evidently, none of the .308 target rifles I have now are any good any more.
Even though I'll probably be focusing on the RPR and the 6.5, I'd still like to shoot my .308s, and was wondering if I could get some advice on whether I should shoot em and shut up, change, customize, re-barrel to 6.5,...? I'd like to try the PRS thing, and at least maximize what I've got. Better/different glass, accessories,... Stable includes:
HS Precision HTR, 24", no glass
Rem 700 VS FS? (the '90s version of the Sendero) 26" stainless, with a SS 10x42
Rem700 PSS 20", With MK4 4.5-15
Steyer SSG 69 double trigger, with VariX Tactical 4.5-15
Any advice would be great appreciated!
