I put together a prototype of this and thought I would post up a few pics seeking comments. If there's much interest I may start producing them. I've been using it out in the field the past few weeks so far so good. It's wet formed with heavy saddle leather and be had in brown or black. Around $40.00.

Check out our other products at:http://montanagunslings.com/

Thanks for looking!!

Leather and rivets. Right out of the Renaissance Festival, kind of cool but without the tights. Does it come with a free smoked turkey leg too?

I like the idea of the open front. If you figured out how to change the length of the flap, you could make them fit the 10 rounder as well. Have fun making those things.

Re: AI Mag Belt Holster

That's the answer for when I'm using a precision rifle as a CCW.

Seriously though, that's pretty damn cool. If I switch over to DBM (I know, I'm still at the Renaissance Festival too), I would definetely be interested in them.

No multicam or molle? You are getting off the reservation with that thing Pat. There is certainly a cool factor to good old fashion leather. My brother has a hunting rig (in the fashion of an old war belt) with suspenders, 2" wide belt, holster, speed loader pouch and fold down ammo carrier along with a fixed blade knife sheath all in brown leather. The only thing not leather is an old canvas butt pack. I must admit that is one of the most comfortable rigs I have ever worn. He had all his stuff built by some saddle maker in Great Falls, he lives out on the Smith river. Good job and certainly nothing wrong with going retro leather.

Re: AI Mag Belt Holster

Truthfully I love them and I would imagine there is a better civilian (non Military) market for a black leather one....not all profesional shooters run Molle and Camo...Kahki probably shows up as well as black on a dark rooftop

Note I said Civilian Profesional Shooters in the non combat zones, that are not sand.

I like them and would have no squabbles on wet fit leather...I have a local guy that made a wet fit strapless holster for a little S&W 38Spl and when it was oiled and usable the pistol could not be shaken out of the holster upside down....these being wet fit should have a built in shrink wrap on an AI mag.......please correct me if I am wrong there Montana Slings?

Any pictures of the brown versions? I am just wondering how dark of an oil it is.
