Rifle Scopes Aimpoint H1. Sent a 4 moa. Ordered a 2Moa. Should I just keep it or send it back.

I ordered a 2 moa H1 for use on an MP5SD. Also use on a HK/Walther MP5 .22LR. I was sent a 4 moa version by mistake. I mounted it loosely and looked through it. It looks fine.

I wonder if I should send it back (and endure the hassle) or just keep it. I did not buy a 3x magnifier. But I might some day. If I did, would I be sorry that I kept the 4 moa?

Thanks for your opinion.

<-- Likes 4 MOA dots

Think of it in practical terms

- Outer limits of what your putting it on
- Outer limits of what you could put it on
- Margin of the dot at the outer limits (at 400 - 8")
- You can always turn the dot down
- You can fractionalize a dot

It may or may not be for you. The above is how I look at it.

ETA - I do not use a multiplier behind the dot

I use the 4moa for quick acquisition. When I need to be more precise I shrink the dot by dialing down the illumination.

I prefer the 4MOA for this same exact reason. The whole point of a Red Dot sight is fast acquistion, not precision shooting. So I like the bigger, brighter dot for that reason. And again, if you want to be a bit more precise when speed is not an issue, just turn the dot down. Besides, you're not going to be doing much long range precision shooting with an MP-5.

You can't turn a 2MOA dot UP. Just saying.....

I'd send it back as well. I never had any decent results with anything larger than a 2moa dot. Even then I sold my ML3 and kept my 1 moa dot on my 552 A65. Besides it's not what you ordered and if you have any thought of eventually using a 3X magnifier imo a 12 moa dot is not what you want.

Gentlemen, thank you all for rational thoughts on the issue. I gently put the aimpoint on the .22 and walked around my range yesterday. I think it just fine for my purposes. On the issue of the 3x magnifier and a 4 moa dot......I think I will save my money and buy a good illuminated 1x6 or something similar if I want to scope a longer range rifle. Probably shoot the .22 tomorrow. The 9mm next week. Thank you all.

What mount are you using? I have a T1 on a bobro, for my mp5 and rev stretch...love the mount but the co witness sucks, low is in the way and high is over the sights...I still think dollar for dollar best mount on the market....
