Gunsmithing ALG EMR V2 help

Looking at putting an EMR V2 13” on my M&P15 sport gen 1. $150ish is about all I want to spend. Heard getting the AP2 off is a pain but I think I can do it. First for everything.

New to the tinkering on AR platform. So apologies ahead. When you order the EMR V2 handguard I’ve read where it no longer comes with torque wrench. I’ll buy that, no biggie. Shims come with purchase. Along with barrel nut. I’m wondering about a pinned gas block?! Gas Block from 87 Industry .750 work? Use gas tube that’s currently on the M&P15?

I’d really like the DDM4V7 but I think I need to put in more time with my current AR15. So changing handguard will allow me to extend my left arm more.

Save some coin, shave down your fsb to a low profile gas block? Gonna take a guess that should still be able to use the old pins.

I've reused gas tubes before with no problem from low pro to low pro gas blocks, but nuttin wrong with springing for a new one.

I have an Alg v3 on my .22mag upper and they are really nice rails for the coin. Good luck to ya.??

If your going to drive out the pins yourself measure the end of the pin that protrudes on each side . Most are tapered so you want to drive the small end thru .
