I have reloaded most of my life.
As far as an all around powder that will reload all kinds of rounds, calibers etc. in the medium to small case capacity I find it hard to deviate from 4895, BLC/2, 3031.
My choice would be 4895.
Am I wrong?

Re: All around powder?????

The variations of capacity and bullets say it won't work. For 5.56 and 7.62 Varget and RL15 are hard to beat. As you get into higher volume they work well but there are others that work better. It's like handgun powders, there is no one do it all powder but some that handle 75-90% of your needs.

I use IMR 4895 almost exclusively in all my rifle calibers except 223 (changed to W748). At times tried RL15, Varget, and 3031 but always came back to IMR 4895.

That's the same kind I use.
It's got a pretty fast burn rate too. I got a bucketful of it lit up in the shop yesterday and I like to never got it stomped out.
