I did a load work up with 175 smks, Alliant 2000mr, in lapua brass out of a 26" Remington SPS-V in an AICS chassis, and got some interesting results.
This powder seemed to shoot best for me with the upper end of the charge range, with a bughole 5 shot group at 200 yards being the best. It's literally one big hole torn out of the target. 47.5gr @ 2820 FPS average.
My question is, am I over pressure? I have a shiny ejector spot, but the primers don't seem too bad. Maybe I'm mistaken?
Starting from the right in the pic, the first row of three shells is 43gr IMR 4064 in LC brass as my baseline reference point (1 1/4" group at 300 today), the next row is 48gr 2000mr, then 47.5, 47, 46.5, etc.
What do you think? At what point am I getting over pressure?
