I just wanted to thank Chris over at Alpha mags for the quick shipment of my resupply of mags.
I had a chance to use some of the first run of mags as did a bunch of other shooters and Chris has done a hell of a job improving these bad boys and perfecting them.
These mags offer a variety of advantages that the hard to find AICS mags dont.
1. Having the front plate removed allows for loading your ammo even longer.
2. They are much smaller and compact in size.
3. The feeding is much smoother and more reliable.
4. Plus they cost 1/4 less in price
Here are some pics to compare:
The magazine is a 10 round Alpha Mag as well as the ones laying on the ground
Comparison of 10 round Alpha mag on left and 5 round AICS mag right
Comparison of 10 round Alpha mag on left and 10 round AICS mag right
Comparison of 5 round AICS mag left 10 round Alpha mag middle and 10 round AICS mag right
As you can see the 10 Round Alpha mag is much more compact which helps you get your rifle in lower positions. Many time when using the 10 rounds AICS mags I wouldnt be able to take angled shots do to the magazine being to long and I would have to switch to a 5 round magazine and conduct a magazine change breaking my position.
I am confident this new magazine will assist in this situation as well.
