Went thru a bad divorce a few years back. Had to sell a bunch of the rifles to pay legal fees and fight for custody of my kids. Life has finally got back to normal again. Got full custody of my two children, got re-married, and now am finally able to re-build my collection.

Here is the start of my first build... I love the feeling...

The Bartlein barrel I got from C.Dixon's clean-out, and a Rem 700 action. I have Craig @ PDC Custom building me a chassis currently as well...

It's gonna be in .308....

Here we go.... Time to turn this "goof'd" barrel into what it was meant to be...

Re: And it Begins...New Build...

I'm not a machinist, I just lucked out that my trusted gun builder is also a friend and let's me hang out and watch as he is working on my build. Larry builds some amazing rifles and yes, he did custom build that spider...

Re: And it Begins...New Build...

Badger base and rings came in today. Scope and Shilen trigger will be here by next week.... Getting really pumped...

Re: And it Begins...New Build...

Glad you got the Family life back, been there. Looks like a great build but it's not a Lefty so you can keep it, LOL. Please keep us updated on what's new. PS: C.Dixon's junk is still good.

So glad that you are doing something with that barrel. I was afraid that whoever bought it would let it sit in a closet.

And congrats on the new life! They're worth the work.

Putting the stock back together after having some of the pieces Cerakote'd in "BURNT BRONZE"... I love the color combo...

Rifle should be done by Monday...

Just picked up the barreled action from my Cerakote man wearing its new coat of "Burnt Bronze"... Another hour and a half at work then headed home to put her together...

Just waiting on the 4 bolts to put the rails on, but other than that she's almost done!

What is the contour of that barrel (if any)? That rig looks sick. I also am a fan of the burnt bronze. What does the rig weigh in at?

Not sure on contour of barrel, but it's right at an inch at the muzzle @ 18.5".... It is a Bartlein... Got final four bolts today for rails on stock and will put them on tonight and get final weight then. Plan to take her out on her maiden voyage Saturday....

So many builds so little time. Burnt bronze definitely the way to go! Just picked up barreled action in a burnt bronze Cerakote and looks better in person.

From the front of the magazine to the end of the forearm is 13 5/16" and from the front of the receiver is 11 7/8"

I was in that same spot myself a few years back minus the kids........thank god we didn't have any. Congrats on getting your kids and life back. I know life is so much better with the devil outta my house.
