After 8 months, a new NRL Light Open Build is a reality. 11.3 lbs as it sits on the tripod. This was/is an experiment. Carbon Fiber vs Heavily Fluted barrel for weight. Only 20 rounds through it, but I think it's a keeper. If there's any interest, I'll post the details. 5 shots bore sighting / 5 shots group 1 = 0.76 MOA. 5 shots Groups 2 and 3 as shown. Jury still out on the Leupy scope. Reticle is a little too fine for my eyes. But we'll play around with it.

Tiger stripe vet tape on the scope decreases dispersion / increases accuracy and precision by 33.45%. Or so I'm told by very reliable sources. And yes, this is a bit of a vanity post.

Brilliant. Never put the two together. But you are absolutely correct.

So on my first range session with this rifle I forgot the chronograph. DOH! Not a real problem with a new barrel. More importantly was getting fired brass dimensions. I've had a fair number of years reloading 6.5 CM, with Lapua and Peterson brass. This is ALPHA OCD brass so a bit different. Attached is a summary of almost everything needed for finalizing a good load, Just need range time at this point.

I’ve been looking at steel barrels for the next barrel on my hunter rifle. What barrel contour, weight, and length is that barrel?
