I have an Annealeze annealer and when annealing I usually do large amounts. I hooked up my 5 gal propane tank and the flame does not burn as hot as it does with the small green tanks. Any others experience this? Any solutions?

Thanks 4844

Any chance it could be a restriction in the fittings you are using? I use a 20lb tank with a regulator and new torch and it works great.

I'll try using a regulator, maybe that was the problem. Lines were clear and and unobstructed. Thanks for the suggestion.
The regulator will only reduce pressure. Most fittings for camping propane tanks have little valves that stop flow when they are disconnected. A couple of those fittings and the less than ideal torch head that is provided could compound and cause your problems.

Thanks again for the help. The annealer is fairly new and does work with the smaller tanks. I did call annealeze and they said others have experienced the same thing, but did not know the reason and they suggested I look for answers elsewhere, not that they were not helpful, they just did not know the reason. I'll also try a new torch head as another person responded to my question.
