Well the topic says it all. This has been the longest stint I can remember that I haven't been able to catch a decent day to shoot. Either the wind is howling at 20+ mph along with rain or snow, or the wind is blowing 30 to 40+ mph with sunshine. This crap is getting old...

It could be worse when I think of those poor folks back in the southeast along the Mississippi and other area's that are flooding or flooded.

no rain today. light's flat would be great for shooting if it were not for the mud from the 2+" rain and breeze today! 15-25 N-NW. Man I need to smell some nitrocellulose!

Last weekend our rimfire shoot got "rained and winded" out! I went ahead and pulled the trigger a few times anyway. My groups, at 50, were around the 1" mark.

Hey Joe, Did you shoot the three day match in the Alliance? 22, lever gun and BPCR, acouple weekends ago? That was a blast and very humbling, to shoot opens out to 200 meters on half scale silhouettes Friday!

Re: Another month shot because of stinkin' weather

me too, i hope to get out next weekend.

had to replace my bathroom tub, wall, etc. this weekend (actually non stop since wednesday night), between that and this rain, i can't seem to get out.

when it isn't raining, cold, or ridiculously, windy i have to cut down the grass as much as i can between downpours. i hope to have the tub done tonight / tomorrow morning, clean up, and hopefully get the grass tomorrow afternoon. if i get a few hours to escape, possibly shoot a few rounds tomorrow.

well.... break is over, back to the tub! it really sucks to HAVE to redo the bathroom rather than having to PLAN to do it.

RAIN??? What the HELL is rain. IF your talking about water falling from the Sky in an abundance please send it to south Texas. I has not rained in months and everything is on fire. But the plus side is it is sunny and low wind so great for shooting

Re: Another month shot because of stinkin' weather

Same thing here. Winds have been 15+ for a couple of months. I went out once to shoot a Smack the Smiley target with predictable results. Finally, we got a calm day yesterday. I shot a great Smack the Smiley rimfire target, but was having accuracy issues with centerfire. I have one more day to shoot, and a forecasted 30 mph gusts in the forecast. Centerfire might not be happening this month.

Hopefully, I will get the chance to shoot a bit more in the coming months.

Re: Another month shot because of stinkin' weather

yeah i hear ya. how about those folks in louisianna. i never used to let weather affect my range days or hunting, but the older i'm getting, the more i allow it to dictate my plans!

seriously though, i shouldn't use the weather as an excuse not to shoot, after all shooting a trainer in less than perfect conditions help with the whole training process.

however i'll use the excuse that the ink runs when it gets wet and i can't see the bullseye.

yeah, that's it....

It sucks that life and the weather gets to dictate our sport so much, but that's just how it goes sometimes. I'm personally HOPING that I can get out and start shooting again soon. I'll ignore the weather if I can just get some fricken time!

No, I didn't. I'm not sure I even remembered it was going on. I need to get over on their site and check the scheduling. I'm sure it was a fun time for all. Sorry I missed it, darn it.

Re: Another month shot because of stinkin' weather

Ok, Wednesday May 25,,, weather forecast is for 60 degrees and sunny... Didn't check the wind but I'll find a place to hunker down out of it should it be blowing and if this forecast of 60 and clear is true.

Good luck.

Haven't had a chance to shoot since the tornadoes rolled through. Been running a chain saw every weekend. Anyone need any firewood.

Re: Another month shot because of stinkin' weather

The weather's been pretty crappy around her this year too. The temperature's got down low enough that I've had to wear a coat about 5-6 times so far.

It sure sucks to be a gun owner here in Cali, but at least the weather's pretty decent....

Re: Another month shot because of stinkin' weather

Well I finally got out to the Range this morning around 9:30... Misty fog, wet from last night's rain, about 42 degrees with about a 7 to 10 mph wind. I shot 100 rounds with my 1022 from 25 yards off the bench. Wanted to zero the new Simmons 3-9x32 A/O scope (the .22 MAG - Model#511072).

I didn't do to bad. 18 of my last 25 shots cut one hole in the center of a 1-1/4" target square off the bench. It measured just under 3/4 inches. I was happy with that even though the other 7 shots I had (self inflicted) flyers. I was using Federal 510B. The CCI Blazers actually perform better in my Ruger then the Fed 510B, but I didn't have any Blazers in my Range Box this morning...

It was good to get out even if the weather was less then nice. Naturally at about 2:00 PM things cleared up...

Oh well, I got the lawn mowed at least this afternoon.

Re: Another month shot because of stinkin' weather

I feel your pain man!

There's been half a day a week of acceptable weather for 3 months now.The windiest spring I can remember and I've lived here since 73.I'm not talking about 10-15 MPH winds, more like 15-25.Heck it was snowing last week up here.Frikken ridiculous!

Beats tornadoes I guess but I still hate being outside when it's windy.
