Any modifications to make a MagnetoSpeed V1 fit a 1.25" barrel?

I have a chance to purchase a V1. Has anybody successfully used these for a 1.25 barrel? All I have is pictures and descriptions to go off. I have just one rifle with a 1.25" so it is a hard decision for me to justify the extra 200 or so.

Any insights, or rational why the V2 and V3 are just significantly better, would be appreciated!

I'll be interested in seeing responses to this. Magnetospeed's website indicates that your barrel is too large for the V1 to work accurately. All indicators are that keeping the sensor bar between 1/8-1/4" from the bore gives the most accurate readings and if you are not getting the most accurate readings, then IMO you are wasting your time and money.

But I still want to know if anyone has a good answer to the question you posed.

Well crap,,, as I said, only own one firearm over 1 inch,, so I went with the V1, picked it up for 175. I don't think I could have done any better.

My other unit does work okay, but it takes time to set-up. If I'm not just perfectly set up with it too, I'll get a reading "some" of the time. and my velocity spreads have been all over the place, I guess my faith in it is in question as well

And now I'm using a batch of RWS brass for my 300wm, so I really do need good velocity data in order to work a load up.

For what its worth, over at 6br, a guy was playing with the custom trigger feature and was able to get readings. Another had success with a copper jacketed bullet with the unit set up on "slug"
