Im really wanting to do a neat build in both centerfire and rimfire pistols. Im thinking about the buckmark, and i really like the m&p but am really curious what your guns are, picks and pics. Maybe why you picked what you did..

I shot both a revolver (Model 64 Smith) and a semi (Series 70 Gold Cup).

Both are stock. I put my gimmick money into primes and powder.

It depends on which class your going to run. production, limited or open. For production I use my glock 17 for now, and STI edge in Limited. Did fine tuning load development with both, weeding out powders by fouling now. But you really can't go wrong with anything in the STI line. If your of the handy variety you could start out building with an sti frame kit (fitted slide and frame). By no means are they inexpensive but there is a reason why they are so prevalent in competition. I don't play in Open class due to the cost of the game (Example the sti steelmaster is 2900, some of the other guns like jj's are in the 9k range)

My suggestion would be go to a couple steel matches and check out what gear they are running locally in your chosen class.

Travis,

You stated "competition". What type comp?

My Bullsye guns are based on Colt Series 70s for 45ACP and S&W 41 for rimfire. Equipped with modified Herret grips, the 41 emulates the 1911 for grip consistency.

Well, any really. I have both a 1911 .45, and a m&p .22 i really just wanted to see weither or not i should get an m&p centerfire or 1911 rimfire for doing steel shooting and practice. Im really liking a full custom m&p 9mm as an alternative to the glocks(dont fit my hand right ).
