• Watch Out for Scammers!

We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!

Anyone else tired of the S&D scam?

Here's a little ed-u-macation. Supply and damand is totally different than gouging. If I sell building supplies and run out of nails I have more shipped in. If one customer is willing to pay more than the other, thats supply and demand in action. It's gouging if I have nails on hand and demand my customers pay more because of the hurricane that just blew thru. If you think is gouging, file a report with your attorney general's office.

But quit crying about the fucked up system your state has created. Your state has created your mess and your dealers are being forced out. So what is that class? Lower supply. And what does that do class? If demand has stayed the same or gone up and supply goes down, prices go up. But in this case demand has gone through the roof so that means prices do too.

yea I joined in after the onslaught. you really surprised haha. and no Bro, no.. do me a favor and show me where I believe the government should intervene. also California law isn't creating the problem. CA law allows the problem to exist. store owners who like scamming people are solely at fault. why don't you take a walk over here sometime and look into the factual evidence. Store owners capitalizing on illegal labor every day. oh yea. its real, you frankly are just too uneducated to know that it in fact exists. only way to stop it? point it out, but according to you pointing it out is liberal socialism and communism. Jesus do you actually believe your nonsense?

your original post
The big phrase, supply and demand, yet our brothers and sister in arms have no problem scamming the hell out of us when it comes to ammo prices. Notice how private gun sales prices have skyrocketed yet the costs of manufactured firearms are still the same? Yet manufacture prices Of ammo have apparently gone up by 2-3 times the cost... says all the ammo dealers? It’s a scam. !! Supply and demand only works when the cost of the item goes up because the manufacturing cost goes up to create more supply for the demand. There are laws in place to protect from manufactures manipulating the supply to price hike the demand. So regardless of less ammo available, it should just be less available and selling out. We could And should expect to see price hiking from after the fact scalping, and we really ought to have Stronger regulations on that as well, But for these ammo dealers to say their manufactures or distribution costs have gone up 2-3 times the amount in 6 months is a joke. And if it’s not a joke then I dare any owner of a bulk ammo supply out there to show me their costs of a box of 6.5CM in March of 2019 and their costs on a box currently. Let’s see your true 2nd amendment brotherhood shine. Or are we all just glutinous capitalists pretending we rally together for the cause...

I think I figured it out. Some of you don't have the mental capacity to understand the reality of price gouging.
here's the simple definition:
an act or instance of charging customers too high a price for goods or services, especially when demand is high and supplies are limited
yes folks it happens and yes folks its real.

Fact: Californians can't purchase online or out of state ammo, which is currently reflected at increased rates online due to supply and demand along with covid. in store prices are then 50% increase over those same prices for the online sales of these shops. If it can be sold online at reasonable prices why can it not be sold in stores at those same reasonable prices? And yes I understand costs incurred on the floor vs online.

2nd thing I figured out. Some of you guys don't have the mental capacity to understand the difference between a shop that LOST customers due to covid.. businesses that need to increase their pricing to survive, VS a shop that had a 200% INCREASE in customers and revenue consistently booming since covid. This is a preeeeeeetty obvious difference so for those of you throwing out the economics.. well enough said. I am all for a fair and healthy profit, I vote republican, I believe in treating others as I expect to be treated and I believe in showing you respect until I am disrespected. I am not a communist, I also am not stupid, people do in fact take advantage of others, price gauging is in fact real, it is in fact done on a commercial level, especially during times in need, and I frankly do not want to tolerate it nor do I commend it. I also don't try to utterly and pathetically defend it as capitalism, its simply not. Also I don't need to insult people to make a point. good talk!

You can have an increase of customers equaling 200% but if your access to product is limited to 70% of the amount you needed to service customers before the increase you still must raise prices.

You are net down 30% of your opportunity to meet operating costs at normal volume.

Small businesses are inflexible in expanding and contracting to crisis, it becomes akin to market timing....they are always behind the trend.

Im betting you are eligible for a huge business loan from the Federal Government.

First of all... Very good you have family here in Texas... hopefully they're close enough family that you can move in with him to find an apartment or home here.

As far as this being an issue that you brought up... It's absolutely not an issue. This is been going on for quite some time. And while annoying It's perfectly legal.

I do agree that ammunition should be included with things such as water food clothing fuel to be protected from price gouging during emergency times.

After all, we are not guaranteed food or water or home, but we do have a protected Second Amendment right. In the gun is totally useless with out ammunition.

And I congratulate you on standing your ground. Mini come on here with trolling attitudes and then turn and run away when they see exactly how we are. Additionally how we are... Mostly assholes here regardless of your political view would still invite you to the Backyard Barbecue

All im saying, and all I said, is its happening. right now and near me. that's it. apparently that's enough to bring out the worst in these fools. unreal. yea we own a lot of land in Texas and New Mexico. I choose to live in CA because my industry is here. I have money but that's not the point of this. thanks for the insight and for not assuming I was a communist although you'll most likely be called one very shortly lol.

Gotta love the influx of 2020 faggots

I honestly can't tell if they are democrat trolls or just legit autistic fucks from reddit or arfcom.

The online sales are $60 less per case for the same stores in question in California. they have retail stores and an online store. the online store can ship outside of California but will no longer ship TO California FFL dealers (hmmmmm I wonder why that is). online or retail stores will ship to FFL dealers in CA however several FFL dealers in Los Angeles are no longer accepting these transfers due to being over worked.. hmmmm starting to see a trend building a case for the ability to price gouge...??? really DON'T need to search into it that far. But I guess you need to be a communist to spot anything with your intelligence.
Says the dumb bastard that lives in CA.
You own any of these FFL stores?
Do you have a clue what regulations they endure that most if not all in other states don't?
BTW, an intelligent man would have bought plenty when it was cheap, hoss.
You peckerwoods show up here barking at the moon like everything you have to endure is new.
I'll wager you've not been voting for long.
You've some windmills to slay, get to it.

actually happening all over... It's not just near you. Though I do understand your frustration.

If somebody wants to call me a communist, it's just a word. For it to mean anything I would actually have to give a shit people think.

What industry if you don't mind my asking? No problem if you want to keep it to yourself

I in a nutshell run the computer software that puts on the big shows you go see in arenas, i.e Taylor swift etc. I personally work for very well known worldwide POP artist and have for the past 5 years, I guess I do share some Liberal sentiments speaking with my co workers all the time. I travel the world for 9+ months out of the year and yes I've been to china, Russia, Korea, all of Europe and every state in the US except Alaska. before that I was a licensed electrician/project manager for a series of 2 megawatt solar farms constructed here in Southern California. (I do not like wind mills lol someone said on here) I really hated being away from the music as I grew up a musician in Detroit MI. Living in Los Angeles has Huge advantages although Nashville does too and its really been looking nice for my fiancé and me haha, LA is just craaaaaaaazyyyyy.

Yeah and you LOL LOL LOL me when I asked you a question because it went right over your head.

Regardless if you were doing a lot of shooting, but in 2017-2018-2019 you didn't buy anything to stockpile.
Now do you see the question from a different person yet?

I doubt if we will ever see brass cased 5.56 Federal for $225 a thousand and steel cased $110 a thousand

Yeah access has been limited.

In my state gun owners had to take the Governor to court to get gun stores and firearms manufacturers open.

A month or two of production lost.

Ammo manufacturers are working under covid restrictions. Capacity is not there. They are putting plexi glass up between workers just like everyone else.

The sales explosion exhausted supplies.

The gun industry doesnt carry big inventory as they are sensitive to the ever shifting political wind of panic buying and than lack of demand.

You have to volunteer to be gouged. I guess that means those buying primers at 100 plus dollars per K are idiots. Or are those that didn't stock up idiots. Or are those who can't shoot because they refuse to pay the price idiots?

While packing to move, I inventoried my supplies. Unless I triple my round couple over last year, I probably won't deplete the stockpile before my trigger pulling days are over. Thinking about putting 15 - 20k rifle primers and bullets up for auction and see what happens.

Hahaha! You know, it’s okay to live in Cali and associate with the liberal culture there to make a living. But don’t go around thinking that the rarified atmosphere of the arts is in any way similar to reality for 99% of the rest of the world. Traveling the world in a bubble nets you the image that those who you associate with also see, and nothing more.

It certainly doesn’t give you a down to earth understanding of economics, much less an acedemic version of the same.

By your own rantings...and yes, that’s exactly how they come off...you state that the allowance of illegal labor (in your state) and their restrictions on your access to ammunition are artificially raising prices even more than in other parts of the country. Other parts being the majority of states wherein one can still purchase ammunition from anywhere else in the lower 48 and at what price the real market will bear.

I think you are missing where the point was. Every industry has regulations. That doesn't mean they come from the United States government. Duuuuuuuhhhhh are you for real?
Lolol! Government, my friend, is government. Be it local regional, state or federal. I realize that you would like for strict controls on pricing and do not worry, our friends in the currently widely left would love to make that a reality for you.

Come to the dark side...we have cookies.

I call calling people Chinese and communists trolling lol.
Lolol again! Man, I appreciate your sense of dry humor. It reminds me of the wailing of spoiled children when they get served gruel instead of eggs Benedict.

But do go on.

Oh, it was absolutely limited, by your lovely legislature that did their level best to restrict ammunition sales in California after their many unsuccessful (ruled unconstitutional) attempts to out right ban ammo sales. You should be thanking your ever-lovin’ overlords that they even allow you that pittance.

Hey, don’t get us wrong here. We absolutely agree that it sucks that ammo and in many cases loading components have become so expensive and in limited supply. Why, we in many other states now have to work harder to find the nuggets among the dross these days. It’s trying, man, really it is.

well dare I say back to the question: anyone else feel they've seen Ammo dealer price gouging? (for who didn't stock pile ammo for the Armageddon 6 plus years ago lol cause they are so economically advanced and forecasted the china plague).

Awweeeee does it remind you of spoiled children? awe that's sooo cute, so informative. The illegal labor happens in Texas, New Mexico, Florida etc. I don't travel in a bubble I travel in a plane and a bus, yes that was a pun. I'm certain you're as well traveled which allows you the opinion I live in a bubble but you're avoiding the fact that everything I've said is actually happening and there's aparently a team of you on here trying to justify why i'm the idiot for believing what I've seen, or that I'm fragile or ridiculous because I don't agree with it lol. Its honestly quite a condemning and almost silencing approach that seems in itself very liberal like, as a person who's voted republican in 4 elections I really know how to spot stupid liberal rebuttal. really interesting how that works out for u haha, you like being told what you've seen? you like being told to deal with it? its just a topic for a discussion.

That’s true- I suppose I was being a little naive in expecting more class out of Republican, U.S. Army veterans.
I’m sure there’s many here that are, but the loudmouths seem to take over every conversation with negativity, condescension and ad hominem attacks.

Hey OP? Can you explain why ocean front property costs more than regular land in the Midwest? Because its limited availability and peiple are willing to pay more for it. Same goes to your question.

Its not gouging to be influenced by the markets.

If your feelings are easily hurt by prices of ammo maybe find another sport?

Here is something you are not catching onto.
Your local government. YES that Government that you want to "fix" the problem is the one creating the problem by creating a bottleneck and a version of a monopoly.

Get rid of your stupid laws and let interstate commerce proceed as normal and your ammunition prices will quickly go down as the locals have to compete somewhat with mail order and can't have huge mark ups.......

The problem starts and ends with your government.

When you heavily restrict who can engage in commerce and from where, you create monopolies and raise prices.

Take for example car insurance, it's a lot more competitive because you can buy it from anyone just about and from other companies in other states.
Healthcare however, has to be from someone in your state....

It really doesn’t bother me... but in past experience when I fight back I get banned... because these guys go bitching to the mods. It’s fine, just disappointing to see it.

I firmly disagree. I've read all your comments, thanks for all the insults. its very very troubling as this is a forum where we can all come to ask questions and get information. I believe that my local shops are scamming, and before even asking one question about what I've experienced the LOT of you immediately throw out the 10 sentences you've read in economics, and immediately feel threatened calling me a communist. I really feel bad for that breakdown and for the inability to have a conversation. thanks for your time.
Listen here you dense fucker, you asked a simple question earlier, you got a complete simple answer, then you’ve completely shit showed this thread with your California whiny ass bullshit, if you’re sick of paying retail for ammo then get a ffl, a storefront, 100,000$ plus worth of product to start off with, then you can sell ammo at whatever the fuck you think is “fair” market value, which I think in California that means we’re supposed to give it to you free.?. Not real sure, never been to that shithole, but I digress, then everyone on the hide will pat you on your back and tell you what a swell guy you are for not overcharging us in a great time of need.... Get a clue, eat a bag of dicks and go unfuck your ideals!!

Did you notice how nobody made a comment about my having ammunition included with food, water, fuel Etc regarding price gouging during emergency times.

I could be incorrect, and hopefully somebody will correct me... I don't remember reading anywhere in the Constitution Bill of Rights admittance that delineate our rights to water, a house, fuel, clothing

....i see you got your Economics degree with AOC....

supply and demand in a nutshell for non-communists "i have something, i charge what you will pay for it......if i have something, and 2 people want it, whomever pays the most get it"

it doesnt matter what i pay for it....it matters what YOU will pay for it.

i sold a used G17 for over new cost not long ago......thats a $350-400 gun all day long normally......however with all the guns being snatched up, i was able to sell it for $600, the cost to me for the glock didnt change....the price someone was willing to pay did.

i love all these first time gun buyers acting all shocked about election year ammo price.

It’s called fair wage and labor protection... I voted republican and always have. I live in California and I’ve personally worked for POS that have 7 immigrant employees paying then 40% less on prevailing wage jobs using them all under a journeyman, apprentice license. The shit is real and It most certainly isn’t communism Hahahaha for real. Maybe if you got out from under that red white and blue rock you painted for yourself you might actually see the America most of us republicans have always voted for.

Fair Wage - Here is what is a Fair Wage. It's what ever the fuck I want to pay. If it's not what you want, then go take a different job. This minimum wage stuff is BS.

Again, supply and demand. If I can't get anyone to work for what I want to pay, then I have to decide to raise my offer or go somewhere else.

I'm sorry, but this shit isn't rocket science.

Go be communist somewhere else.

When the government finally has complete control we won't have to suffer these arguments. Everyone will have equal access to all (available) goods at regulated prices. Citizens of the former USSR were foolish. Bet they wish they could return to the good 'ol days.
