At one time they were great and very necessary. Unfortunately, they've overstepped their bounds. But if we completely get rid of them you can say goodbye to fair treatment to workers

Join the contestNo, when it switches the government will tell you what you can have. People have this fantasy of equality through Socialism or communism... That's not how it works. You get the upper 1% and the rest were peasantsWhen the government finally has complete control we won't have to suffer these arguments. Everyone will have equal access to all (available) goods at regulated prices. Citizens of the former USSR were foolish. Bet they wish they could return to the good 'ol days.
No, when it switches the government will tell you what you can have.
I think what @seanh is alluding to is the prevalence of “party member only“ shops that stock the good stuff while the proletariat stands in line for government cheese...That's what I said...equal access.

Equal is misery. You have obviously fallen victim to western propaganda. Every one knows all are equal in a communist society.
Yes, everyone can equally wait in line at the supermarket for empty shelves, maybe some bread if you're luckyYou have obviously fallen victim to western propaganda. Every one knows all are equal in a communist society.

lol take your unions and suck a dickAnd it's the above comment why we need unions.
Don't forget elasticity and government intrusion on price. You clearly have never studied supply side economics.....
When the demand of something increases what happens to price along the supply curve?
It increases....

Is it possible for you to understand the difference of price gouging compared to supply and demand? I live in CA on the coast clearly that’s not the same as gouging prices hahaHey OP? Can you explain why ocean front property costs more than regular land in the Midwest? Because its limited availability and peiple are willing to pay more for it. Same goes to your question.
Its not gouging to be influenced by the markets.
Listen here you dense fucker, you asked a simple question earlier, you got a complete simple answer, then you’ve completely shit showed this thread with your California whiny ass bullshit, if you’re sick of paying retail for ammo then get a ffl, a storefront, 100,000$ plus worth of product to start off with, then you can sell ammo at whatever the fuck you think is “fair” market value, which I think in California that means we’re supposed to give it to you free.?. Not real sure, never been to that shithole, but I digress, then everyone on the hide will pat you on your back and tell you what a swell guy you are for not overcharging us in a great time of need.... Get a clue, eat a bag of dicks and go unfuck your ideals
J.
Did you notice how nobody made a comment about my having ammunition included with food, water, fuel Etc regarding price gouging during emergency times.
I could be incorrect, and hopefully somebody will correct me... I don't remember reading anywhere in the Constitution Bill of Rights admittance that delineate our rights to water, a house, fuel, clothing
Yup or it could be that the store was just price gouging lol. There’s not enough ink in the internet to teach the OP remedial Econ.
@J.Kubiak Hope you got one of them free educations. Otherwise you overpaid.
#you’re_a_fucking_communist
Out of that whole reply, the only thing you picked up on was dicks, huh, how bout that, I’m anti abortion but after reading the dumb shit that you type, I’m pretty sure I would have handed your mom the hanger!Let me guess, your mad because.. YOU.... actually want the bag of dicks? In fact so much you brought it up because you like talking about bags of dicks? out of nowhere? Listen... Over here in CA.. no one will judge you for that. I sure won’t.
out of all that huh, as if I NEED to give your shit some validity? it was price gouging. that's it. doesn't take a fucking rocket scientist to figure it out. its honestly baffling how difficult it is for you to think someone could actually price gouge lol. like, let it go man. youre not under attack from communists. I'm not arguing with you closet Brokeback mountain folks anymore, at the end of the day you're just angry aggressive people. your wives probably all tell you the same thing. its been fun though! =)Out of that whole reply, the only thing you picked up on was dicks, huh, how bout that, I’m anti abortion but after reading the dumb shit that you type, I’m pretty sure I would have handed your mom the hanger!
this store is not hurting in anyway shape or form. they are crushing it financially. and they are gouging costs on particular things before the forecasted slowdown, and its not unheard of. last I'll say of it. thanks for all the responses. The comment of price changing over-nite isn't valid.
I had a gas station and we would raise the price of gas we had in our tanks when we were told next delivery was costing more.
We needed the extra capital to survive the next price increase.
How the fuck do you know? Have you seen their books?this store is not hurting in anyway shape or form. they are crushing it financially. and they are gouging costs on particular things before the forecasted slowdown, and its not unheard of. last I'll say of it. thanks for all the responses.

Can you all seriously shut up about the supply and demand nonsense. It was price gouging. The goddamn sticker was changed on the bucket of ammo from 6pm one night and noon the next day. Now shut up about it and go vote! May the best trump win!
Nope. Just good old fashion small business Californian make a quick buck for yourself tactic that works allllll the time for businesses Round here. It’s price gouging.Maybe I see the problem now. Ammo is a commodity and you are not treating it as such.
If I have million barrels of oil stored in a tank that I bought at $30/barrel
then half the world oil supply disappears over night (aliens take it without warning)
Oil is now selling on the open market for $100/barrel
I decide to price my oil at $105 barrel
am I a price gouger? or did market situations outside my control affect the price of a commodity I happen to have old inventory of?
Guess what, no one has to buy my oil. I am SPECULATING that by the time my oil sells, I will need to spend $105/barrel to replace it. I am only covering my own ass based on the knowledge I have available to me.
Your OP should have stated:
Retailer that is raking in fat cash already decides to increase the price on ammo he has in stock to make even more profits today, He must be speculating that replacing that ammo is going to cost more as ammo prices seem to rise each day at other vendors. This makes me angry because now I have to pay more all because of his crazy speculation that ammo is suddenly more valuable. How dare he have an opinion different from mine and take action on that opinion.

Interesting you say that. Family owns a a few small businesses and franchises in Texas and Michigan. None of them have price hiked, all of them have taken a huge hit. But good try.Love how non business owners love to tell business owners how to run their business.
@kortik was catching flak on his pricing because someone thought the tool wasnt worth the price like he knows what kortiks costs are. I by the way love kortiks products - great utility and value.
You people should be governors in a covid world. They have certainly been good telling business how to run their operations.

well, considering one of my brothers chains has gone from one location to 3 in under 18 months id consider it a success. a huge hit doesn't mean bad business. it means the Shitty michigan Gov gave local jurisdiction the ability to close business they considered non essential which was then enforced by the local fire department chief and then 3 months later overturned... 2 months of a complete Loss, and one month of a curbside pickup only loss. they are now re opened on schedule in all locations. no offense man but you're not too bright. "sounds like shitty businessmen then". =P...they sound like shitty businessmen then...
update us later when they go out of business because they dont understand basic economics.
yea ok lol. we Americans pay the taxes. no matter who's in office. cost always comes to us.If they are taking a huge hit they are not businessmen.
Question for you when Biden raises business taxes who pays it?
oooooookay there guy. haha fmlSo, your family doesn't have any business sense...and how pray tell does that translate to you having any business experience? Osmosis? You're the guy that rather drown that acknowledge his boat has a leak. The same type of guy that tells anyone who listens his HiPoint is "just as good."
oh wow, do you think that .01 percent of me gives a shit or needs to prove anything? haha if they agree on the sed price gouging that would be all that matters now wouldn't there fella.Have you come to the realization that 99.9 percent of us following this thread are convinced you are a bigger liar than the average congress critter? Even those that agree with your stance on imaginary price gouging.
oh wow, do you think that .01 percent of me gives a shit or needs to prove anything?
actually this all is just curing boredom. ive said its price gouging, and I haven't budged. even amidst your finest economic suggestions and pummeling insults. now I'm just communicating back to the shit people have to say. Have you seen any convincing? lolThink? Nope. Convinced? Yes. Otherwise you would have stated your opinion and moved on...not lingered trying to convince everyone else you are right.
yea ok lol. we Americans pay the taxes. no matter who's in office. cost always comes to us.
hahaha you eat paint don't you? c'mon just tell us ..what color is your fav flavor. Please stay in California and deal with it there.
We don't want you in Texas since you vote communist and are the problem.
