Anyone use big daddy unlimited? Sounds like a porn site, but they’re selling the selling themselves as the Costco of guns and gear. They charge $9.99/month and supposedly you have access to product at dealer like costs. Is this a gimmick or legit?

I use them. Do yourself a favor and just buy the trial membership. If you like it you can cancel and keep buying trial memberships. Lol. Prices on most optics are pretty unbeatable. A lot of parts and accessories are priced well also. Firearms however are not. I can always find a better price.

I'm a member and have used it. Review above is pretty spot on. Shipping is not always the fastest. Website interface sucks. If what you're looking for isn't listed you can call or email and most likely they can get it. Email responses are pretty darn fast.

Forgot to mention how bad the website is. Just because you search for it and get no results doesn't mean it's not there. It probably has some ridiculous name in their system or is flat out named wrong. I've corrected countless listings for them. Sometimes you have to search by part number or SKU.

It seems more of a hassle.

That's for you to decide sir. Like I said, for 99 cents you won't be wasting much to check it out. Their Athlon prices are unbeatable. I've found the same to be true for Triggertech and their small selection of chassis.

Huh! They don’t even list Athlon as one of their brands and their website doesn’t even have a search feature to look it up.

Setup does not instill much confidence in me. Good luck to those trying it out. I would be apprehensive of even sharing my credit card info with them.

I've spent plenty of money there with no issues.

I’m not a member, but I’ve actually been in their store in Gainesville, FL. They didn’t seem to have a tons of stuff in stock, but very nice to deal with and I think they can get anything at a great price.

I use them often. Browsing the site sucks because items aren't categorized very well and filtering options are pretty sparse. Searching by part number is most efficient. They probably lose a lot of sales simply because people can't find something.

I like to browse by brand, but its even hard to find a way to do that on the site, so I use this link https://www.bigdaddyunlimited.com/brands/

They drop ship most items from RSR and a couple of other distributors. FYI, a lot of gun stores drop ship from RSR out of Texas.

The pricing on the bulk of their parts is the best you will find on the internet though.

I was on the fence about trying them out, but I just tried that link on the brands and I was 0-12 searching ?

For most purchases, if B&M's are within 10% of an online discounter, my money goes to the B&M's. They'll do a much better job supporting you too.....
Conversely, I buy my reloading components online and I shop based on price. Primary reason is that the local B&M's just don't have what I want and to special order through them is a 50% premium.

I try to support my local shops also. But the only local reloading store we have has insane markup. I buy small things every now and then. But they sell 8lb jugs of H4350 for $280 when I can get it online for $220 or less.

Yeah, like I say, my threshold is about 10% difference. If the local B&M can't make enough margin, they aren't shopping hard enough. Sometimes, it seems like I find better deals than what the local B&M guys pay for cost.

All brands will be empty until you are a member. Should have mentioned that. You cant see any inventory until you have membership. I think they still offer a .99 1 month trial.

Sorry to resurrect an older thread, esp. for my first post on here. I am wondering if anyone has found better deals on vortex scopes than BDU? I just ordered a razor 4.5-27 from them because their price was far and away the best I could find anywhere - $1687 shipped. (A guy on reddit said he could order me one for the same price, but his distributor charged sales tax in my state). The guy on the phone said that they were drop shipped from vortex directly which IDK. Haven't received it yet, ordered last Wednesday. I have no connection with them and only bought bought the $0.99 trial membership for this order explicitly, will be cancelling after the glass is in my hands.

I can't comment on your scope exactly, but they list the 5-20 razor for $335 less than what I payed for mine. Add tax and that's anothe $140.

Please call Scott at LibertyOptics (forum vendor). You’ll b pleasantly surprised on the deal he might be able to offer and you’ll b supporting a Hide vendor

Yea I got my razor from them at that price. Took like 7 weeks to get and it goes to them first it does not drop ship straight from Vortex at least not with mine. I have had 2 orders with them where I have to keep up with them on getting items shipped. The scope I had to keep on and on with them to stay updated. Another order a week or so went by on an item "in stock" and when I sent an inquiry it magically got a label created in 10 min and I got a response saying "it's already shipped". I've kept my membership for now but I'm still debating canceling. The website is atrocious.

If you don't mind waiting two weeks for an in stock item to ship.....

I use big daddy unlimited for certain items like muzzle devices, Surefire lights, and got a sig rattler from them a couple months ago. They have solid prices and I haven’t had any experiences where it takes a really long time to ship.

the quickest purchase to ship date on any order so far is 6 days. Already had to cancel one order

I did the trial membership not realizing they automatically sign you up for the monthly renewal. Saw the charge to my card as I had forgotten about them and was like wtf? So had to go in and cancel the monthly thing also deleted my cc so they can't charge it again. So if you do the trial you have to into your account and look under subscriptions to find it.

I did the .99 trial as well. It renews on the 25th and I will make sure to cancel on the 24th. My issue with them is they do not return emails regarding orders and they show stuff is in stock but they don’t ship it. Ive been waiting since 1/25 for items to ship.

They're local to me.
I know most of the guys that work there.
They're struggling to be efficient. They keep restructuring internally for a number of reasons.
They have their own wearhouse and they also drop ship from many of the biggest vendors in the country. Depending on where the product is that you bought, it could take upwards of a week to get your item when you factor in "Covid" shipping.
Not really a BDU thing, but a gun industry problem right now. Almost everyone is shipping slower right now.

I called them today, customer support said that they did not finishing shipping my order because they only had 1 set of anti-walk pins when I ordered 2 sets. I told them to cancel them and ship the rest of the order.

I sent 2 emails requesting status of the order, last time they updated was Feb 2nd. I sent one the week of the second and one last Wednesday. To me, I gave them a few weeks to respond. That’s poor customer service.

I can understand the shipping aspect, USPS is slower than a oxen pulled wagon train at this point. This wasn’t the case this time. To hold a partial order up for a back ordered part is ridiculous. Brownell’s, Midway and Optics planet all ship partials if an item is not in stock. Oh and all the listed companies send you an email saying a partial shipment is on its way.

I just don’t see paying for a service that if you have time to search the web, you can find the same deals or better elsewhere. $9.99 a month for a month long backlog on shipping is not acceptable.

DO NOT ORDER from Big Daddy Unlimited, their customer service is horrible, they constantly lie and do not know what they are doing. I put in an order for items they stated was in stock in their warehouse on 11/4/22 and four months later still have not received the order. They constantly state that my order has been "allocated" but their warehouse is backed up and do not have an ETA until when my order will ship! I paid a 9.99 membership for this? I finally had enough and demanded a refund via check but instead they issued a refund to my credit card that no longer is active and closed, now I am having to go through the trouble of trying to contact the bank (credit card) to get my refund. I specified this when I called their customer service and they ensured they will send me a refund via check.

I never had to go through this with any other gun store. Do yourself a favor and do no order from BDU, they are bad business.

DO NOT even sign up… They’re semi-legit. Yes, they are a real company, but it’s ran by scumbags. They’ll keep charging you $10 every month even after you cancel the membership. They pulled that shit on me for about 3 extra months, until I caught them, and reported it to my bank, and still had the cancellation email in my inbox with a date on it for proof. The bank had to manually block any future transactions from them.

So FYI my current experience with big daddy unlimited is horseshit. Month + for shipping
Items and they charged me already. Scumbags…. Emailed them and “that’s because it’s from different distributors.”
Want refund plus membership.
The offered 3month membership free? Why would I want a 3month membership when they can’t ship an item within2months?
