New member here. Just bought a nomad ti for my first can. I currently shoot an Armalite tac18 308. Mainly hunt pigs and coyotes with the occasional white tail. Just curious what y’all thoughts on the nomad ti are. I hear a lot about how it’s perfect for a bolt gun but don’t really see much insight on a semi auto. Will I run into some serious back pressure or feeding issues?

If you add an adjustable gas block (assuming it doesn’t have one already - I’m not familiar with the Armalite tac-18) that should mitigate any back pressure issues.

Otherwise it should function just fine, assuming your loads aren’t too hot.

it does have an adjustable gas block.I only know of one other person who has this can but he runs it on a pws 308. He claims it has some serious back pressure and has occasional feeding issues. Gas block on the pws only has 3 settings. I’m pretty sure the ar10 gas block I use has more adjustment settings. Will more settings help me fine tune it so I don’t run into these issues?

If it’s continuously adjustable then all things equal, you will have a lot more control over gas volume flow and thus be able to better prevent/control over-gassing.

That said, some suppressors are more optimal for gas gun applications than others. Surefire and KAC’s cans as well as TBAC’s dominus are designed for use on gas guns. I can’t speak directly to the Nomad as I don’t own or use one. Your friend’s feeding issues (ie stove piping) may be due to excessive bolt speed driven by an overgassed condition or it may be due to other issues.

I run a SiCo Omega with adjustable gas blocks. For full length gas tubes I dont have to adjust much once its set correctly. I also have an intermediate gas tube on one rifle and I have to adjust it for suppressed vs unsuppressed.
