It's about like a regular stock. The edges of the arca aren't sharp like a machined aluminum rail would be.How comfortable is that MDT CRBN to carry will the full length arca?
Yeah I’ve see those. Hopefully wouldn’t have to add one to an almost $2k stock though.![]()
ARCALOCK Rail Covers
Since 2018 ARCALOCK has been growing in popularity, with tens of thousands of rails on rifles around the world. In that time, the only complaint people have had is “it’s not the most comfortable thing to hold onto” (with my soft, weak hands). So, we’re listening. Any chance you ever held a HNT26 with the built in arca ? Do they feel similarIt's about like a regular stock. The edges of the arca aren't sharp like a machined aluminum rail would be.
Been a while since I've had my hands on a HNT26. Roughly the same. Not really ant sharp edges on either one.Any chance you ever held a HNT26 with the built in arca ? Do they feel similar

If they come up on sale on MDTs next Black Friday I might be temptedBeen a while since I've had my hands on a HNT26. Roughly the same. Not really ant sharp edges on either one.
yeah I’d love a CRBN with a McMillan mountain tracker LR toe.I have a Hnt26 and mdt crbn. I don't find one VS the other any more comfortable to carry around single handed in front of mag well. The forend body is wider on the CRBN so I think you notice the arca a bit less. I wish the CRBN would have had the forend and toe line of buttstock, and bag hook area, parallel to one another and parallel to the bore. Flat flat flat equals flat recoil tracking. I did have a friend 3d print a flat bag rider for the hnt 26, and it's helped improve shootability and stability prone and using a Tripod for rear support.
Mtn tracker is still a 3° toe line I believe, I have a few of them, great stock. The only stock that has a negative comb, flat toe to a flat forend is the Rokstok to my knowledge. I have some of those too, they do shoot great, but f me are they ugly. Price point is very good tho, but the McMillan Mtn Tracker LR comes with flush cups, integrated arca, better fit/finish, and they are generally 2-3 oz lighter than the rokstok, also near 2x the price. If they come up on sale on MDTs next Black Friday I might be tempted

I almost went with the rokstock but I didn’t like that they didn’t have the flush cups and integrated arca and that they made them for small fingers. McMillan mtn tracker is pretty much perfect for me as far as ergos goes but I’m always open to try something new.Mtn tracker is still a 3° toe line I believe, I have a few of them, great stock. This is a fantastic rifle build. Do you know if the MDT VERTICAL ADJUSTMENT BUTTPAD is compatible with this chassis? I think having that vertical adjustability would be nice. I am still trying to select a chassis for my rifle build. Did you have to modify the chassis for the action to fit properly?May as well throw this one in here.

when I was using my 6.5 creed nuke barrel on my CDG, I found that the 147eldm feed much better than the Lapua Scenar 136/139. Even the Berger 140 wouldn’t feed great unless I ran the bolt really hard.Update on conical breech adapter….
Swapping to a heavier profile barrel on my CDG. Picked up a Shilen bull barrel from NSS and went to spin it on tonight. Does not headspace.
When measuring with no go gauge, it appears that the gauge sits .048” deeper into the Shilen barrel than with the shouldered Mausingfield takeoff barrel I had on before. Both the barrels are chambered in 6.5 creedmoor.
I’m going to run without the adapter and see how it feeds, but wanted to let everyone know that at least with this combination the conical breech washer prevents the Savage prefit from achieving proper headspace. YMMV.

Yeah, I plan on running Berger 140’s and Eldm 147’s, so hopefully it’ll feed ok.when I was using my 6.5 creed nuke barrel on my CDG, I found that the 147eldm feed much better than the Lapua Scenar 136/139. Even the Berger 140 wouldn’t feed great unless I ran the bolt really hard.
