Does anyone here have experience with an Archon Type B? I am looking at getting a carry gun and was considering this one. With the dimensions posted below, is this firearm a bit big for a, EDC?

Got one, accurate, flat shooting due to low bore axis. Only issue will be, replacement parts. Archon parts are not the same as Glock or other similar models. You can get the parts from Archon.

Having handled them at the last SHOT show, I would say most would consider it a bit heavy for an EDC but certainly doable.
I want one though!

It was designed as a military sidearm for the Russians, IIRC. Who didn't actually adopt it, although Spetsnaz have been seen with them as an unofficial sidearm, so it was intended for riding a belt or thigh out in the open to begin with.

It shouldn't be any more uncomfortable to carry than any other full-sized pistol, but it looks kinda tall and thick so if you want it to be more-or-less concealed, it might not be the most convenient option.

They can only answer in regards to their body structure, their carry style, their daily movement requirements, etc etc.

Just buy a Glock in your choice of size and caliber and be done with it.

No need to spend 2x the price on a gun that is going to do the same exact job

Holsters will probably be your biggest problem. If its not popular, production will cease and parts, repair and mags would be a problem.

Just buy a Glock M&P in your choice of size and caliber and be done with it.

I have one. I don’t EDC anything, if I did, I would carry this thing. In the event you actually have to use it to protect yourself, Archon will give you another pistol to carry while yours is held as evidence. Recoil pulse has to be experienced to be appreciated. It’s literally like a video game. Accurate and fastest on multiple targets. I’ve shot it side by side with Glocks, M&P s, Sigs, and CZs, it’s the best.

The grip “mapping” is dumb-smart, can’t imagine what they paid for that “research”, (Lord, how my distaste for engineers grows). I personally hate the looks of the pistol, that stupid notch makes it look like a Boston Terrier. It’s a solution looking for a problem and should have been nixed based on aesthetics alone. The whole pistol reminds me that the “best athletes” in Europe play a sport where using your hands is illegal and fall down and act hurt so another man takes pity on them. I’d gladly pay twice as much as I did for Connor vs Khabib to watch Taylor Mays and Sean Taylor hit those guys.
