Just bought a Leica 1600, it reads pressure as atmospheric, which is 14.13 or half what my krestrel which reads barometric pressure 28.58, how do you convert? This pressure thing I find very confusing, Atmospheric, station, Barometric? Anyone have any good reading to help clairify this, I must be a little slow? Thanks

Re: Atmospheric pressure

1 Atm. = 14.69 lb. /sq in.

1 Atm. = 760 mm HG

Divide 760 by 25.4mm/in. = 29.92 in HG

divide your local atmospheric pressure by 14.69 and multiply times 29.92 to give station BP.

or to get Atm. Pressure...

divide station pressure by 29.92 in HG and multiply times 14.69

29.92/14.69 = 2.0367

14.13/14.69=.96*29.92=28.77
