Howdy All,

Well, I now have a compact long range rifle build in progress and I am trying to get an idea as to what the overall length of the rifle will be, when folded. It is a 6.5 with a Manners TF1 folding stock, with a Rem 700 short action, and the barrel length is going to be 20" plus a Sure Fire 7.62 muzzle brake. I am wondering if it will fit in my M4 length Pelican case, or more importantly if it will fit in my Gregory Backpack which is 3966cu/65liters. I don't know the length and width of my pack, and I don't have it out here to measure. I figure it has 30", top to bottom.

What I would like to achieve with this build is that I can put the rifle, along with suppressor, laser range finder, wind meter, bean bag, log book, and ammo, (Maybe a spotting scope) and pack it in, comfortably. Then, shoot on a ranch with minimal disturbance to the neighbors. I don't want anything that looks "tactical," I try and avoid that look, in general.

If anybody has experience with this type of setup, I'd love to hear your input and maybe see what packs you are running. Pics would be great.

Thanks!
