I am currently running the APA... Switching to R&D, close but even better lever.

i like the surgeon but im kinda bias , thats what i got. the mag release is not hangin out in the wind as much as badger. i think apa may have em beat the RTG is VERY clean unit. would like to run the system see how the tabs feel. definitely like how they are not just hangin out there ready to snag on somthin and dump your mag while your on the run

Surgeon for the win. I'm not a fan of the Badger mag release hanging in the wind either.

I have a few Badgers and just got my hands on a Surgeon for a new build. Have to say that the Surgeon is extremely well machined and all edges are finished. I also have KMW bottom metal in a Sentinel stock so I am use to the side push button release.
For some reason even though I have not run it yet I like the fact the front of the Surgeon hangs down below the stock in the front. That front skirt should protect the mag and help eliminate some possible train wrecks.
Don’t know if it’s a clear cut choice and would say it personal preference as the Badger is well proven. I will be ordering a RAD shortly as well to test.

Got Badgers on all my rifles and don't have any problems with the mag release catching on anything and never had a mag drop out when it shouldn't be.
That said either one would be a fine choice.

Surgeon. And I have CDI, Badger m5, Badger m5 with r&d mod. I like the surgeon best. A close second is the m5 with r&d mod. I like the r&d bottom metal but it wasnt out last time I needed bottom metal just the mod was out. I was building on a badger m2008 so I wanted badger bottom metal. Pretty much comes down to just personal preference since they all function 100 percent with no issues.

RAD TAC Latch bottom metal looks smooth and great idea. That being said, mine came with Badger and I couldn't be happier.
