Snip
Trains run infrequently in between the villages, break-downs and derailments are common, and the trains themselves travel at little more than walking pace. So people in the north west of the country, near Cambodia's second city of Battambang, have taken matters into their own hands. They have created their own rail service using pieces of bamboo and abandoned barbell like train wheels. The locals call the vehicles "Norries", but overseas visitors know them as "bamboo trains".

I was up in the AnLoc, QuanLoi regeion of RVN in 69/70. III Corps.
While out on patrol we came across a few old rail lines in the rubber regions. Trees growing between the tracks so obviously not being used but were at one time.
Looking at gook gear and how it was put together I realized that given enough bamboo and boxes of rubber bands those cocksuckers could make anything from a bridge to a backpack or shoes.
Crafty devils they were.
