Barnes TTSX choices?

New to reloading and looking for a good bullet for elk hunting. I am looking at the Barnes TTSX's but need some guidance. 150 or 168?

Shooting a Remington 5R .308 with a 20 inch barrel. With the copper bullets being longer should I try to push the 150's faster to achieve the same energy at the target or use a 168 and not worry as much about the velocity?

I'd go for the heavier tsx, get a bit deeper penetration with it.

Keep it simple : 168 grains bullet @ 2600 - 2650 FPS.

This brings up another question for me, because of the increased length of the copper bullet is there enough space in the cartridge to accomidate the bullet and the powder to get 2600-2900 fps? I have read in less reputable forums that a .308 doesn't have enough internal volume.

You will be able to get over 2600 fps with the 168. Probably in the 2700-2800 range. The 150 will get there easily.
