Was there a conclusion to this test? (so I dont have to look at the 159 posts)
Which tests are you talking about? In random order for the most part....
The very first one tested was done by Hornady in 6.5CM. On a pressure test barrel they usually pull them at about 1700 to 1900 rounds tops. The BB material went 3400+ before they seen a velocity and pressure changes that gave them warning signs. They fired another 100+ thru it after that. So it officially got retired at 3500+ rounds. I have barrel in my possession.
A 6x47 gas gun barrel was tested in PRS by a Socom shooter. Normally he only got 800ish round 1200 tops. He pulled his barrel at over 2300 rounds. He was also the high gas gun shooter with it in the finale of 2020. I have that barrel back and also in my possession. I posted pic's of the bore on the forum. They are currently still shooting a 300 Norma. Last I heard the barrel was well past 2k rounds and still shooting. Normally these are pulled by 1k rounds.
Greg Young at SPR tested a 6mm in 6XC. He retired the barrel at like 3500 rounds +.
Dave Tooley has one in 300WM. It's not toast but Dave says the wear looks better than a standard barrel.
There are barrels in 6BRA etc...in PRS and they have and or 4k+ rounds on them.
Ammo Inc. just started testing 223 pressure test barrels. We made them 10pcs. They have two in service but just started using them. Last week Monday they had 500 rounds on each of the two in service. So it's going to be awhile. We also made them some in 300AAC and 308W.
Olin/Winchester just ordered a 223 and 30-06 accuracy barrels in the new material. We did make them some earlier this year in 308w and 300wm but those shipped back during the summer time. So nowhere near being toast yet.
There are other things still going on and coming up as well.
